The Managing Director of Aceland Royal Garden, Eze Dr Eze Alex Sunday Nwoye, has presented cash gift to the Keke Operator, Chukwudi Okeke, who returned a bag containing huge sums of foreign currencies to the owner,  Eze Dr Bona Eze, in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that while presenting the cash gift, Eze Nwoye stated that Okeke demonstrated strong morality and he needed to be encouraged and appreciated by well meaning Nigerians to show that honesty pays and should be encouraged in the society.

He explained that when the issue of the missing bag was brought to his attention, he went to the hotel’s CCTV and identified Okeke and the missing bag. But nobody knew him or know how to trace him and the missing bag, which belonged to a customer who returned from USA to lodge there before he will travel to his home town.

Eze Nwoye explained that it is not every young man that will do what Okeke had done because it was tempting to see such bag and have the courage to return it to the owner with everything in the bag intact including foreign currencies. He stated that the management of Aceland Royal Garden, located at 4 Abiodun Alimi Street, Ejigbo, gave Okeke the cash gift as a token of appreciation and asked other Nigerians to emulate.

The 35-year old tricycle operator, Chukuwdi Okeke, returned a bag containing huge sums of foreign currencies forgotten in his tricycle by a Nigerian based in United States of America, Eze Dr Bona Eze.

Mr. Okeke, who is still single and from Umungwa in Obowo town, Imo State traced the owner, Dr Eze and gave him the forgotten bag, with everything in the bag intact despite the fact that he opened the bag and saw some Dollars, Euros and Pounds Sterling inside the bag. But he insisted that he must trace the owner and returned everything whereas he is riding his tricycle on hire purchase and his sister was in a hospital and needed money for her treatment.

The owner, Dr Eze, had already given up because he does not know Okeke from anywhere or how he can reach him and was already full of regrets for returning to Nigeria for the Christmas festivities.

However, his joy returned two days after the ugly incident happened when the tricycle rider returned the bag with everything intact.

After the incident, there has been reactions over the conduct of the tricycle rider. The Chairman of Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos State, Eze Chika Nwokedi, has praised Okeke for his uncommon courage to return the bag despite his financial challenges.

Nwokedi noted that it was rare to see such persons with such strong moral background and it should be encouraged by Nigerians.

The owner of the bag, Dr Eze, expressed surprised that we still have such Nigerian and a young man with such moral standing.

He explained that when he eventually collected the bag from the tricycle rider, he offered him some money but he refused and told him that there was no need for that because the thought of losing the bag may have caused him serious pains.

This honest Nigerian, Chukwudi Okeke, can be reached on his phone number 09112797792 for appreciation. Many people have been reacting over the matter showing appreciation for what he did.
