The spokesman of the Council of Ezendigbo Gburugburu Southwest, Eze Dr. John Chukwudi Nwosu, has explained that he accepted his appointment as spokesman because it serves the interest of Ndieze and Ndigbo in Southwest Nigeria.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Eze Nwosu stated this after his recent appointment by Eze Tochukwu Anosike, who was appointed Ezendigbo Gburugburu Southwest by the Alaafin of Oyo State, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akeem Owoade, at a meeting of the Council of Traditional Rulers comprising 17 states.

Eze Nwosu, who is also General Secretary of the Council of Ezendigbo, Lagos State, said Eze Anosike’s appointment will unite Ndieze and Ndigbo in Southwest, noting that they have lacked leadership and a unified voice for years. He explained that Eze Anosike’s leadership will bring together Igbo people from various states, including Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti, and Ondo, promoting unity and progress.

The Ezendigbo Gburugburu Southwest position is a significant role, overseeing Igbo affairs in the region. Eze Nwosu emphasized that Eze Anosike’s appointment is a blessing to Ndigbo in Southwest, given his experience and leadership abilities.

He explained that the Ezendigbo Gburugburu Southwest position had been vacant since the previous occupant’s demise, and the Alaafin filled it with Eze Anosike, finding him worthy and capable. “The Alaafin’s action is a blessing to Ndigbo in Southwest,” Eze Nwosu said.

Eze Nwosu urged Ndieze and Ndigbo to support Eze Anosike, advising those opposing him to accept the reality of his appointment. He noted that the appointment was not secret, with notable Igbo leaders present, including Uche Dimgba, Ichie Anselm Njoku, Eze Emmanuel Chukwuakalikamadu, Chief Kalu Uguru, Eze Slyvanus Onuoha, and others.

Eze Nwosu clarified that Uche Dimgba was not part of Eze Anosike’s entourage in Oyo but was present and aware of the genuine appointment. “He was even vying for the position but lost out,” Eze Nwosu added.

Eze Anosike has begun unifying Ndieze and forming the Council of Ndieze Southwest, involving Ndieze from all Southwest states. The council aims to promote Igbo culture, resolve conflicts, and foster economic growth.

The council will also address issues affecting Igbo people in the region, such as land disputes and social welfare. Eze Nwosu expressed confidence that Eze Anosike’s leadership will bring positive change.

Eze Nwosu commended the Alaafin of Oyo for recognizing Eze Anosike’s potential and appointing him Ezendigbo Gburugburu Southwest. He said the Alaafin’s action demonstrates his commitment to Igbo unity and progress.

The appointment has been welcomed by many Igbo leaders and communities in Southwest Nigeria. Eze Nwosu urged all stakeholders to support Eze Anosike’s efforts to unite Ndigbo and promote their interests.

Eze Anosike’s leadership is expected to bring renewed hope and energy to Igbo people in Southwest Nigeria, promoting unity, progress, and prosperity. Eze Nwosu said he’s committed to working with Eze Anosike to achieve their goals.
