Eze Chika Nwokedi Debunks Rumours Of Working Against Gov Sanwo-Olu’s Reelection Bid

The Palace of Ezendigbo of Ijeododo and Ijegun Kingdom has debunked claims by rumour mongers that His Royal Highness Eze Dr. C.C. Nwokedi, was working against the reelection of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the upcoming election in Lagos State. 
 
P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Palace Cabinet Chairman, Chief Dr. Godwin Aneme, in a disclaimer to the alleged rumours being spread by some disgruntled elements on the social media.
The statement said, “The cabinet members and the entire Ndigbo Community of Ijegun and Ijeododo hereby disassociate itself from the viral WhatsApp message making the rounds suggesting that the Palace of Ezendigbo Ijegun and Ijeododo is canvassing for votes against His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the forthcoming Gubernatorial elections”.
It stated that the false information was meant to cause breach of public peace by the perpetrators among the people living in Ijegun and Ijedodo communities, who had been living peacefully together over the years.
“The Palace is by no means partisan hence cannot canvass votes either for or against any aspirant in any election whatsoever. The Palace hereby unequivocally states that it did not appoint anyone to speak on its behalf on any political affair or in respect of any incident whatsoever either directly or indirectly.”
“The Palace of Ezendigbo of the Ijegun/Ijeododo kingdoms and its cabinet members are made up of law abiding citizens of this country, who would not engage in activities or make statements that would be inimical and threat to the peace of our community or anyone.”
“We therefore, wish to reiterate that neither the Eze of Ijegun/Ijeododo nor its palace and cabinet members have authorized any person whatsoever to make statement on their behalf and therefore, urge everyone to disregard the WhatsApp voice note or any other messages claimed to have emanated from them.”
Eze Dr. C.C. Nwokedi and his cabinet members therefore, urged everyone to go about their legitimate business and freely go out on Saturday 18th March, 2023, to cast their votes for any candidate of their choice for the Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly Elections.
“We stand for peace and progress of our community and the State” they stated.
