He offered prayers for wisdom, good health and understanding for the Chief Chinye-led executives, urging them to avoid division and to carry every member of the community along in their programmes.
The Igbo 1 also called on all Igbo sons and daughters living in Lagos State to remain law-abiding and to continue to contribute positively to the economic and social development of the state. He emphasized that Ndigbo must continue to uphold their cultural values while living in harmony with their host communities and other ethnic groups.
According to him, the Igbo Speaking Community remains an important platform for preserving Igbo language, culture and identity in Lagos, and the new executives have a responsibility to strengthen it.
In his response, Chief Chukwudi Chinye thanked Eze Nwachukwu for his fatherly role and for his decades of dedicated leadership to Ndigbo in Lagos. He described the royal blessing as a source of strength and legitimacy for the new executives.
“We are deeply honoured to receive the blessing of our father, the Ezendigbo of Lagos State. For over 27 years, he has provided direction and stability for Ndigbo. We pledge to follow his guidance and work for unity and peace,” Chief Chinye said.
