Eze Ndigbo Set For Igbo Cultural Day, Visits The Sun Newspapers

The Eze Ndigbo in Lagos, HRM Eze John. C. Nwosu and his council of Obi Eziokwu Palace have paid a courtesy visit to the management of The Sun Newspapers preparatory to the Igbo Cultural Day coming up on 7th December, 2019.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the entourage included the immediate former President of Igbo Speaking Community, Chief Ebere Ubani, the present President of Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos, Chief Sunday Eze, some High Chiefs and princesses including some of the Nollywood actresses.

Eze Nwosu and his entourage were received by the top management team and staff of The Sun Newspapers led by the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief, Onuoha Ukeh,  Sunday Editor, Chief Chidi Nnadi and others at their Ikeja, Lagos office.

Nwosu in his address, congratulated Mr. Ukeh on his promotion as the MD/CEO of The Sun Newspapers and prayed to God to continue to protect him, the entire management and staff of The Sun Newspapers.
Nwosu, also known as Ohamadike Ndigbo, stated that his last visit was on 28th November, 2018, when he invited the management to the Igbo Cultural festival, which was honoured including accepting to play novelty match with the Palace of Obi Eziokwu.
He said he wanted to use the visit to invite the MD, the entire management and staff of The Sun Newspapers to the 2019 edition of the Igbo Cultural festival coming up on 6th and 7th December at Bishop Aggrey Memorial Secondary School, Mushin, Lagos.

He said activities lined up for this year event include the confinement of awards to some very important personalities in the society.

“Chieftaincy titles will be conferred on the former Nigerian World Super Light Weight Boxing Champion, Obisie Nwankpa, Chief Mike Ozekhome, Dr. (Mrs.) Nkiru Ifekwem, who is the President of Anambra State Women Association, ASWAL, Lagos. ”

Nwosu also stated that Nollywood actresses Chiege Alisigwe, Tonia and actor Junior Pope, will be honoured on that day under the chairmanship of Chief James Umeh Igwilo, Ebube Agu of Igboukwu and the co-chairman will be High Chief Samson Umejidike, Ugo Ebenaja Ndigbo.
He also stated that various masquerades from Igbo land and Igbo Cultural dance groups including popular musicians will perform on the day of the event, which will be the 8th edition in series and had been an avenue to showcase rich Igbo Cultural heritage.

In response, the MD, Mr. Ukeh thanked Eze Nwosu and his entourage. He stated that the publishing company had always identified with his palace and promised to support the event as they had always done in the past.
