The Igbo traditional ruler a.k.a Ezendigbo Lagos State, Eze Christian Uchechukwu Nwachukwu, has finally reacted over the threat by Eze Frederick Nwajiagu to bring the proscribed IPOB to protect the properties of Ndigbo in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Eze Nwachukwu stated this at the Igbo Community centre at his palace in Okota, Lagos.
He described the statement made by Nwajiagu as disgusting, reckless, irresponsible and warned the Igbo leaders to desist from making such statements that will cause disunity between Igbo and other ethnic groups in Lagos State.
He explained that Nwajiagu’s arrest has given him serious concern because people have been calling him and even mistook Nwachukwu to be Nwajiagu hence it became necessary to set the record straight.
Eze Nwachukwu stated that the self acclaimed Eze Nwajiagu was never crowned Ezendigbo rather he was given Eze Udo by one Chief Ebere Ubani, who was then the President of Igbo Speaking Community over the purported role he played in registering the association at the CAC.
He explained that Nwajiagu has been claiming and arrogating  powers he does not have.
“He is not the spokesman of Ndigbo in Lagos State nor recognized as Ezendigbo, who would represent the interest of Ndigbo. Therefore, he is solely responsible and liable for his utterances and actions.”
He regretted that Nwajiagu’s action by making such reckless statement on the social media seemed to be a deliberate move to cause crises in Lagos State between the Igbo and Yoruba and indeed Lagos State Government. And should be condemned by all for the interest of peace in the State.
Eze Nwachukwu, who is the National Treasurer of Association of Eze Ndigbo and Executive Member Intra Tribal Traditional Leaders Association of Nigeria, stated that the Igbo will no longer tolerate such unguided and irresponsible statement from Igbo leaders and as the Ezendigbo Lagos State, he will not hesitate to hand over such persons to the security agencies for prosecution.
He regretted that Nwajiagu just woke up and started answering Ezendigbo, where there is no record to show he is one of the Ezendigbo recognized by the Igbo community headed by him and the Yoruba Obas of the host community in Lagos State.
Eze Nwachukwu recalled that it was the late Oba of Lagos, Oba Oyekan, that installed him while the late Osolo of Isolo, Oba R.A.Y Global gave him the first Chieftancy title and the Southeast Council of Traditional Rulers, led by their Chairman, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, in their general meeting in Enugu crowned and gave him their general blessing while notifications were given to Obas and Council of Chiefs in Lagos State. He stated that having built bridges across the ethnic groups, he will not want any man to cause trouble that will break the relationships.
Nwachukwu stated that the Association of All Sariki outside Hausa land, Obas of Yoruba outside Yoruba land and Eze Ndigbo outside Igbo are preaching peace and tranquillity in Nigeria.
He stated that it was the relationship that gave him the opportunity to organize Lagos State at 50 in 2017 at the National Art Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
Eze Nwachukwu advised the Igbo in Lagos State to remain law abiding, respect the host community and do their businesses peacefully in the State.
