Already transferred to other leagues by some journalists in the past weeks for the next transfer window, Cesc Fabregas was the protagonist of Chelsea win at Leicester, scoring a brace at extra time that allowed the team to go to next stage in the EFL Cup.

The Spanish midifielder removed some pebbles from his shoes while  speaking to Sky Sport after the game:

“I was happy to play first of all from the start, and secondly if I can help the team then fantastic.

“Hopefully this will shut up a few journalists, a few dailies, a few whatever, who are talking rubbish all the time and focus on what’s important, Chelsea winning.

“I’m focusing on playing well and when I have the chance I’ll show what I can do, because I know what I can do and it’s a lot for this team.”

“I think we played quite well, to be honest,” Fabregas said.

“We know they are a dangerous team on the counter, which is what they did, but I think we showed great character, as I think we’ve been showing during the whole season.”
