Fake Prophet Swindles Woman Of N4.3m For Prayer

A woman, Oluwadamilola Oyesomi, is now counting her loses after she reportedly paid N4.3m to a fake prophet for special prayer so that she will become wealthy but the prayer failed and she became poor.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Pen-Cinema area of Agege, Lagos, where they reside.
The self acclaimed Prophet, Adebayo Kabiru, has been arrested for obtaining under false pretense.
It was gathered that the 49-year old Kabiru met Oyesomi and gave her a prophecy. He was able to convince her that he had the spiritual powers to make her wealthy if she wanted. She gladly accepted and he asked her to pay the money for the prayer, which she did. He then embarked on the prayer and assured Oyesomi that she will become wealthy.
However, she waited for the prayer to work to no avail rather her situation became worse. She reportedly informed Kabiru that the prayer was not working as her condition was getting worse. He replied her that he had played his role by praying for her and that the rest was for God to answer the prayer and not him.
It was then that it become clear to her that she had been swindled. The alleged fraud was reported to the Police at Ikeja Command and Kabiru was arrested. After interrogation, he was charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to fix a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, granted Kabiru bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 24th February, 2020.
