Members of the Oba Adele Ajosun Royal Ruling Family of Lagos and Igbologun Island have petitioned the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the State House of Assembly over alleged plans to cause breakdown of law and order in the State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the family in a petition dated 28th May, 2024, addressed to the State Governor and the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa, pleaded with them to wade in urgently and prevent  bloodbath in the Apapa Island.
According to the petitioner, a royal father in Apapa, Oba Morufdeen Atanda, there was attempt to try to forcefully breach the peace of the island by installing an unpopular village head on the community.
The petitioners also stated that the perpetrators and their unlawful allies have conspired to carry out the daredevil invasion of the peaceful Island and forcefully install an illegal Baale.
Other petitioners representing the family included: Prince Moroof Adegboyega Adele and Prince Suleiman Olale.
The family through their lawyer, Mr. Bakare, Bolaji Ibrahim of A.K and Co., stated that the Oba Adele Ajosun Royal Ruling Family in Lagos and Igbologun Island “is an established and well settled family with documented history on their Royalty and Land ownership in Lagos State”.
The family stated that, “While it has been a known and open fact to our Client that the Oluwa Royal Family and some other Families, acting as their cronies and unlawful allies, have, over the years put up spirited but historically false claims to Igbologun Island, no one ever thought that such baseless claims would reach a state of conspiracy to carry out daredevil invasion of the peaceful Island and forcefully install an illegal Baale!”
“Our Client’s privileged information is that Oba Muhammed Moroofdeen Amuda-Tijani Oluwa has conspired and perfected an illegal plan with his cronies to forcefully invade our Client’s ancestral territory with the aid of armed thugs to forcefully install an Illegal Baale, in the name of one Adamson, a resident of Igbologun Island, on the peaceful island of Indigenes and Residents.”
The family further stated, “This Illegal actions are tentatively planned to be executed between 27th May, 2024 and this week, a period that falls during the first year Anniversary of Oba Oluwa’s installation or anytime soon. It is beyond doubt such actions would be clearly unlawful, illegal and a breach of public peace, if carried out.”
“Our Clients are law-abiding and respectable members of the Royal Ruling Family, and are seeking your immediate and swift response to bring this live-threatening situation under control.”
The royal family pleaded, “We therefore, humbly request that you cause a detalled and thorough Investigation into all our allegations, with a view to bringing the perpetrators to justice.”
“Our clients are law abiding and respectable royal family and are seeking your immediate and swift response response to bring this situation under control.”
