Football Clinic: Oshoala Promises Scholarships To UK, China For MVP

Reigning African football  Queen, Asisat Oshoala,  has revealed scholarships to study in China will be awarded to the best talents at the first-ever Asisat Oshoala  Lagos  State Girls  Secondary  Schools Football  Clinic, scheduled to hold in November in Lagos. 

The five days education and football clinic tagged “#lagosgirlsfootball” has been endorsed by the Lagos State Sports  Commission headed  by Deji Tinubu , the Lagos State Football Association and it’s also supported by the the First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs Bolanle Ambode.

The project is  given  back to the society  program of the reigning African CAF women footballer of the year Asisat Oshoala as part of her effort to develop the game of women ’s football in Lagos.

“The project is my  give back program for the society. Let me reiterate that part of my foundation programme is  to develop the game of women’s football in Lagos, Nigeria. There is no doubt that when you educate a girl , you have educate a nation , kick out prostitution out of Lagos,  kick out early pregnancy on the side of girls. I believe that  they can play football and still go to school.

“Education is not only in the class, we can also used this to  kick out badoo in ikorodu , we need the government to support the huge project.  I can’t  do it alone, we are doing the project in support of the Lagos State Sports  Commission and I want to use this medium to thank Mr Deji  Tinubu for standing by me and also Her Excellency,  Mrs Bolanle Ambode , on my own I will be taking the MVP at the clinic to either UK or China to study and also play football, ” Asisat said

The five-day event which will kick of in November will see scouts from Arsenal, China visiting  Lagos to train Lagos State secondary schools girls about the game of football.

No fewer than 5000 girls from different secondary schools are expected to take part in the competition. Balls, boots, jerseys, school bags and other educational and sports equipment are to be distributed to all participants.

Asisat promised to make the clinic an annual event.
