‘From Ikorodu To United Kingdom!’ – Iyida Jacob Obiora Set For Elite Football Summer Camp

Posted on May 27, 2026

Buruj Sports Academy continues to prove why it is rapidly becoming one of Nigeria’s most respected grassroots football institutions after talented youngster, Iyida Jacob Obiora, successfully secured his United Kingdom visa ahead of the prestigious Buruj Sports Academy UK Football Summer Camp.
The exciting development marks another major milestone for the Lagos-based academy, which has consistently created international pathways for young Nigerian footballers through exposure, education, and elite football development.
At just 14 years old, Iyida Jacob Obiora is already attracting attention as one of the academy’s brightest midfield prospects. The SS1 student combines academics with football development under Buruj’s unique “Play and Study” structure — a system designed to help young talents succeed both on the pitch and in the classroom.
Now, with his UK summer football experience confirmed, the promising midfielder is set to gain valuable international exposure, elite-level coaching, and the opportunity to further sharpen his game against top young talents abroad.
Those close to the player describe him as disciplined, intelligent, hardworking, and highly determined — qualities that continue to push him closer toward his dream of earning a future call-up to Nigeria’s U-15 national team.
The founder of Buruj Sports Academy, Dr. Waheed Salaudeen, expressed pride in the youngster’s progress and emphasized the academy’s commitment to opening global opportunities for talented Nigerian youths.
“This is exactly what Buruj Sports Academy represents — creating opportunities, building futures, and helping young talents achieve their dreams through football and education,” Dr. Salaudeen stated. “Iyida Jacob Obiora is a brilliant young player with great potential, and we believe this international exposure will help shape him into a top footballer and responsible young man.”
Buruj Sports Academy has continued to build a strong reputation for producing national team talents and exporting players to Europe, with several academy stars recently securing opportunities in Spain and Lithuania.
For Iyida Jacob Obiora, however, this latest achievement may only be the beginning of an even bigger journey.
