From Uba To Ubah – How Can a People Be So Unlucky?

Posted on August 23, 2021

As Nigeria’s CBN Governor, Soludo was exemplary. He had more successes than failures, if at all there was any failure with regards to his core mandate. Soludo’s era in the CBN remains one every onye Anambra is proud of. He brought grand changes, not tokenism.

I have read a piece circulated by the Andy Uba team wherein they ascribe about 800 jobs purportedly provided by Sanusi to “his people”. In quick comparison, this minimalist want us to believe that Soludo’s banking reforms which birthed over 600,000 jobs, increased Nigerian Bank branches by over 4000 across the country is nothing as we must value 800 unverified jobs by Sanusi over and above the thousands of jobs created by Soludo. Indeed, politics is a game.

This is same Andy Uba, whose 8years in the Senate, is generally accepted by Anambra South people as a dark era in political representation. It was so bad that at the splash of cartons of Tummy Tummy noodles, Ifeanyi Ubah trounced him out of the Senate in 2019.

Andy’s poor representation gave more than enough credence to Ifeanyi’s equally distasteful Leadership. So much so that the people would bless their stars for receiving cartons of noodles because it is far better than the nothing they got from Andy Uba’s 8years.
