Fuji Lord, K1 Installation As First Mayegun Still Hold Monday, Says Alaafin

The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi has announced that contrary to the wicked and baseless rumours of cancellation of the much anticipated colourful conferment of the prestigious chieftaincy title of the First Maiyegun (Ultimate Peacemaker) of Yorubaland on Olu-Omo Olasunkanmi Ayinde-Marshal, the Fuji Lord famously known as K-1 De Ultimate, the ceremony will still hold as scheduled on Monday, January 13, 2020.
In a statement Friday by the Chief Press Officer to the revered Alaafin, Mr. Bode Durojaiye, he said emphatically that the rumour making the rounds about the postponement of the installation is the “handiwork of detractors and pull-him-down experts”.
According to the Royal aide, the Maiyegun installation ceremony not postponed as the scheduled date is sacrosanct.
His statement reads; “This is to inform members of the public that the scheduled date (13th January 2020) for the installation of Alhaji Chief (Dr.) Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, K1, as the Maiyegun of Yorubaland by His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111, has not changed.
“The Paramount Ruler urged the recipient of the Chieftaincy title, invited guests, including eminent and distinguished personalities that will grace the occasion to disregard publication(s) both in the mass media and social media, as nothing will change the colourful program from holding as planned.
“The program to auspiciously mark the 49th Coronation Anniversary and Ceremony of the Iku Baba Yeye, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, CON, commences on Monday 13th of January, 2020, with the installation of the Fuji maestro, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde as the First Maiyegun of Yorubaland. This will be followed on the 14th of the same month, with the coronation ceremony proper.”
With barely three days to the ceremony, detractors, naysayers and mischief makers went to town claiming the auspicious ceremony has been postponed quoting an unauthorised sources.
Also speaking on the whole saga, Mr. Kunle Rasheed, a seasoned celebrity journalist and Publicist of the highly influential musician, described the reports of the cancellation as “rumours and fictitious stories (that) have since been found to be false, malicious, null and void in its entirety, as they only emanated from nowhere else but dreamland.”
He added that “nothing can stop what the God has ordained, even as nothing whatsoever can warrant a last minute postponement of a well-planned and articulated grandiose event.”
It will be recalled that the well-travelled and decorated Fuji musician has prepared well for the ceremony after his acceptance of the prestigious title.
In a recent Instagram post, K1 thanked the revered monarch while pledging his continuous defence and promotion of everything good in Yorubaland.
He wrote: “My thinking goes to all that has happened to me in the past. Many decisions I took, either good or not too good of which I accept full responsibility and also learn from criticism that comes with many of them not too good.
“Thank you God for the grace to be alive today and to also witness many good things happening in my life. Thanks to you all people of color, both home and abroad that really stood by me in many ways. To many I have offended I am deeply sorry and this is from my heart honestly.
“A new me has just been presented with great opportunities and I pray God Almighty makes this a wonderful and prosperous journey to the glory of God and benefit of mankind. I hereby pledge to always be in defense of Yoruba Historical Heritage.
“Please people of the world, offer me prayers as I take up these responsibilities with joy and happiness writing all over me. Many thanks to you sir, His Imperial Majesty Alayeluwa OBA (Dr) Lamidi Olayiwola Atanda ADEYEMI III, CFR, LLD,  The Alaafin of Oyo.”
Meanwhile, with various colourful invitations sent out to hundreds of distinguished guests and fans of the Fuji music stars home and abroad, P.M.EXPRESS learnt the people of the ancient town of Oyo is already is a festive mood waiting to receive all at the ceremony.
