A top prison officer, Mrs. Joy Edward has lost the sum N600, 000 after she gave a furniture dealer, one Mr. Adebayo Aderibogbe the money to construct some sets of chairs in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that instead of the dealer using the money to do the work, he used it to get married to his lover, whom he claimed was on his neck to marry her.
The alleged fraud happened at Okota area of Lagos where Aderibogbo’s office was located and where the victim met him.
His action has landed in trouble after the wedding. Hence after the wedding, he had no other money to buy the materials to fulfill his own part of the agreement.
He was charged before Isolo Magistrates court for fraud and stealing.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Oje Uagbale did not oppose his bail condition but asked the court to give a short adjournment for trial in the interest of justice.
