FUTO Confers Doctorate Degree On Gov Hope Uzodimma On Saturday

The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, will on Saturday be confered with an Honorary Doctorate Degree on Management by the Federal University of Technology, Owerri,( FUTO).

 

A letter to that effect was sent to the Governor by the Vice Chancellor of FUTO, Prof Mrs. Nnenna Otti.

 

According to the Vice Chancellor, “The Council has ratified the approval of FUTO Senate that you be confered with the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Management (DMT), Honoris Causa at our university’s Convocation ceremony scheduled to hold on Saturday, December 7,2024”.

 

Prof Otti further disclosed that Uzodimma was being honoured because of his “decades of meritorious, selfless, and outstanding services that have positively impacted the lives of the good people of Imo State, the nation and humanity generally”.

 

Reacting to the nomination of the governor, Imo State Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Hon Declan Emelumba, described it as well deserved.

Emelumba said the award was a further testimonial by a reputable institution to the commendable job Uzodimma has been doing both in the state and Nigeria.

 

He commended the Vice Chancellor and the Senate of FUTO for their unbiased assessment of the worthiness of the governor for the DMT award, saying that the state government will always do all within its powers to satisfy the needs of the masses.
