More than 5,000 young visionary Nigerians are set to converge at the Liberty Stadium in Ibadan, Oyo State, from March 17th to 21st, 2026, for the landmark GENSPARK 2026 Summit.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the weeklong industrial engagement, featuring a massive exhibition of over 2,000 local innovations, is designed to jumpstart Nigeria’s manufacturing sector and offer an alternative to the “Japa Syndrome” by equipping participants with essential production, leadership, and regulatory skills.
This strategic drive to revitalize Nigeria’s industrial landscape provides a viable alternative to youth migration has gained significant momentum following the announcement by WellaFitta Resources Limited as a major social intervention to sponsor the registration fees of 2,000 young entrepreneurs for the summit. This critical contribution ensures that financial constraints do not hinder the next generation of industrial visionaries from accessing the specialized training needed to promote the nation’s economic resilience.
By sponsoring 2,000 participants, WellaFitta Resources Limited seeks to incentivize “teeming youths who need to take responsibility for the future of our nation in the areas of productive engagement and entrepreneurial capacity development”.
Speaking on the vision behind the intervention, Pharm. (Mrs.) Jooda, a representative from WellaFitta Resources Limited, noted that the firm remains dedicated to promoting a self-reliant healthcare value chain through robust local manufacturing. The sponsorship is viewed as a convergence point for ideas that can translate into actionable policies and partnerships capable of strengthening Nigeria’s industrial value chain.
The programme will feature distinguished dignitaries and industry leaders, who will share their experiences and guide participants through practical business pathways. The confirmed key speakers and facilitators include Prof. Martins Emeje, Director-General of the Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency (NNMDA); Dr. Fidelis Ayebae, Chairman of Fidson Healthcare PLC; Abimbola Balogun, Co-founder and Executive Director of So Fresh; and Taofik Odukoya, Founder/CEO of Vanguard Pharmacy Ltd. Pharm Abiodun Ajibade, FPSN, the Team Lead of GleanForte Academy Limited, described the partnership as a critical support system to various governmental initiatives. Ajibade, a veteran business coach and national leader, noted that while the nation’s youth have achieved global acclaim in Information Technology and entertainment, the productive sector requires urgent youth involvement to ensure long-term economic stability.
“The lack of confidence and entrepreneurial skills that are required for creating and sustaining solutions for the gaps in our nation is at the base of the misguided decisions for many youths,” Ajibade explained. He further noted that the summit is specifically structured to cause a “major shift in the mindset” of participants, moving them from a culture of consumption toward one of local production.
A core of the weeklong event will be the massive industrial showcase. It is gathered that exhibitors in their numbers will display a vast array of over 2,000 locally manufactured products, ranging from household items and beauty products to renewable energy solutions and local crafts. The exhibition is specifically designed to provide visibility and patronage for these goods while letting young producers network directly with seasoned industry leaders and the general public.
The curriculum for the 5,000 participants is strictly focused on sustainable business survival. It includes specialized clinics on “regulatory requirements and steps in registering products with regulatory agencies,” which are essential for meeting international standards and unlocking export opportunities.
WellaFitta Resources Limited emphasized that this sponsorship is part of a broader “collective effort” to advance Nigeria’s economic development. He noted that by supporting the capacity of 2,000 entrepreneurs today, they are helping to build a self-reliant industrial ecosystem capable of safeguarding the nation’s economic future for decades to come.
