Glovo, one of the leading technology platforms in Europe, Africa, and Central Asia, has launched its flagship Glovo Academy programme in Nigeria, reinforcing its commitment to supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Glovo Academy is a programme designed to enhance the capabilities of SMEs with high growth potential, providing both in-person and online training to help them thrive in the digital economy.

Following a successful debut in Lagos, the initiative will continue in Abuja and other cities across Nigeria, offering entrepreneurs nationwide access to world-class training and practical business growth insights.

Speaking at the event held at Ikeja Town Square in Lagos, Mojisola Aluko-Olokun, the Longtail Lead of Glovo in Nigeria, explained that the Academy emphasises the company’s goal of creating opportunities that help entrepreneurs succeed while contributing to broader social and economic development.

Aluko-Olokun noted that the programme has become a platform for fostering innovation, capacity building, and stronger connections within Nigeria’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

“At Glovo, we believe that when small businesses thrive, communities flourish. The Glovo Academy is designed to build capacity, inspire innovation, and connect entrepreneurs with opportunities that help them grow and succeed. We are excited to expand this programme across Nigeria and continue our journey of empowering entrepreneurs in every region,” she said.

While delivering her training session, Tosin Ajose, the founding partner of Dealhq Africa, provided participants with practical tools for scaling and sustaining business growth.

She emphasised that business owners must take responsibility for building agility within their enterprises through continuous improvement, beginning with themselves.

Ajose further highlighted the importance of cultivating resilient teams, making deliberate investments in people, establishing functional data collection systems, and ensuring a deep understanding of customers and their value propositions.
