GOC 6 Division Charges Student Officers On Continuous Learning

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Jamal Abdulsalam, has charged student officers of the Senior Leadership and Staff Officers Course (SLSOC) 1/2023 to ensure that Learning Occurs.
The GOC gave the charge on Tuesday 2nd May, 2023, to the student officers who were led on a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the Division by the Commandant of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management, Major General Adekunle Adeyinka.
Major General Jamal Abdulsalam reiterated to the students not to be distracted while on the state tour; but to ensure that despite any inconveniences, learning occurs. He gave assurances of the Division’s support to ensure a hitch free study tour and charged the students to draw maximum lessons from the trip.
Earlier, the Commandant of the college, Major General Adekunle Adeyinka, thanked the GOC for his behind the scene efforts which saw to the materialization of the SLSOC 1/2023. He recalled the sterling role the GOC played as immediate past Military Secretary (Army) in posting in appropriate faculty members and the physical fruition of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management.
The Student Officers study tour which has as its theme *Enhancing National Security through Socio-Economic Development* the Commandant said was specifically designed to give the students officers a robust practical understanding of the mix of leadership and management best practice for possible adoption and application. Major General Adekunle Adeyinka described the Nigerian Study Tour as a critical ingredient of the course in that it takes the students out of the conventional class room environment.
The Senior Leadership and Staff Officers Course is specifically designed to improve middle cadre Direct Regular Course officers service knowledge and staff duties proficiency while equipping them with leadership skills, contemporary management concepts and techniques needed to undertake higher responsibilities in the Nigerian Army.
