Hammer House Records, a music label owned by notable Gospel music minister, Emmanuel ‘Eben’ Benjamin has unveiled fast-rising gospel singer, Blessing Umukoro as its first artiste.

The new artiste, with a stage name ‘Meme Rise’ was unveiled in conjunction with SG Musik at a recent exclusive media parley held at the Radisson Blu in Ikeja, Lagos.

At the event, the two music outfits —Hammer House and SGMusik— also previewed exclusively Meme Rise’s refreshing video of her new single titled “Wonderful Wonder,” featuring Eben.

Speaking on the significance of the collaboration to unveil Meme Rise to the mainstream of the gospel music industry, Eben described it as a new phase of experiencing God in this generation.

He pointed that Hammer House decided to work with Meme Rise in appreciation of her journey and background as a committed minister of the Gospel who has served God and her local church —Voice of Freedom Ministries, Benin City— for over 12 years as a worship leader. Eben noted that his role is to create visibility, endorse Meme Rise’s brand and publish her music.

In her remark, visibly excited Meme Rise expressed her readiness to make both Eben and SGMusik proud with her music as it’s her time to rise in the industry.

While crediting her husband for being a huge inspiration in her thriving musical career, she promised to remain committed to her local church as a member of the choir.

“I won’t leave the choir, as everything I do is still part of service to God. My goal as a musician is to show to everybody that Jesus is real while encouraging everybody who thinks they are lost, depressed, and astray back to Jesus,” Meme Rise said.

Before this collaboration, Meme Rise was already an artiste trying to find her feet in the music industry with an album released under SG Musik with a different name. But things took a new turn after she got a revelation to change her stage name after the release of her debut.

Born in April 1980 in Edo State, Meme Rise is a 2003 graduate of the University of Benin, where she studied Economics and Statistics. Aside from her music career, Meme Rise, who is married and blessed with five children, also runs a thriving fashion designing label.
