Gov AbdulRazaq Reintroduces Free Transport Palliative In Kwara

Posted on October 23, 2024
In cushioning the effect of the economic reform of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, the Kwara State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has relaunched free transportation palliative for residents.
In a recently released price template by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology, the government declared buses transporting residents from Post Office to Tanke, Unilorin, Oja, Eyenkorin, Amayo, Mandate, Oyun, UITH and Okeose, among others free.
The previous price template for these destinations from Post Office, which is the transit hub, was between N300 and N500. For instance, from Post Office to Tanke – Unilorin was N500 while Oyun – UITH – Okeose was fixed at N400 for students, staff and the public.
Governor AbdulRazaq has been consistent in providing free transportation palliative for Kwara residents whenever the need arises. It would be recalled that during the fuel scarcity and currency swap by the former President Muhammadu Buhari government, Governor Abdulrazaq provided free transportation for the residents.
Since the President Tinubu-led federal government began its economic reform last year, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has equally provided subsidized and free transportation palliative for residents to mitigate its effect.
