Gov Obiano Inaugurates The Biggest, Fully-Automated Oxygen Gas Production Plant

The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has inaugurated the biggest fully-automated gas production plant in South East, at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku. The plant has the capacity to produce 52 cubic meter of Oxygen Gas per hour and will serve Anambra and neighbouring states.

Governor Obiano while inaugurating the plant, said that for a start, two cylinders each will be distributed free of charge to all government hospitals, primary health centres  as well as other patient care facilities across the state.

Earlier in his address, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala, described the Oxygen Plant initiative as a landmark achievement that will complement efforts at repositioning the State’s Healthcare delivery system.

In his speech, the Managing Director of the facility, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, said the project, which was conceived and completed by the Obiano administration, lends credence to the governor’s commitment to driving a revolution in the state health sector.

Dignitaries that graced the occasion included Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, the wife the governor, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Uche Okafor, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Solo Chukwuloberu, the Chief of Staff, Chief Primus Odili, former Governor, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, former Deputy governor, Engr. Emeka Sibeudu, the Vice Chancellor of (COOU), Prof Greg Nwakobi, Honourable Commissioners, CMD of COOUTH, MDs of many parastatals and other stakeholders were later conducted round the facility.
