The Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, on Tuesday inspected the Zonal Education Secretariat in Onitsha, Onitsha North Municipal Council, Anambra State, where he appreciated the efforts of the contractors in delivering the project in record time.

It would be recalled that, Gov Obiano, three months ago, promised to renovate the leaky old colonial buildings housing the commission. Today, he has fulfilled that promise and even more.

Gov Obiano who was accompanied by the Honourable Commissioner in charge of Basic/Primary Education in the state, Prof Kate Omenugha, promised to fully furnish all the offices and sink a borehole that will serve the Secretariat.

In her words of appreciation, Prof Omenugha thanked Gov Obiano for sticking to his promise. She observed that under Obiano’s administration, Education has been given the attention it requires, stressing that the number of enrollments in primary schools has quadrupled over the years.
