The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo, on Monday inspected ongoing reconstruction of Odoi Market at Onitsha.
Earlier, Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo through the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim paid an unsheduled visit to Odoi Market known for vegetables and other ingredients around Ochanja Market.
While searching for a suitable place for the market, stumbled on existing dilapidated buildings without light, toilet facilities and not habitable.
Governor Charles Soludo further ordered for the reconstruction of the market against the will of some vested interests that were operating in the place. Mr. Governor has turned the dilapidated building into a modern market with all the facilities that befits an international market.
The high point of the unscheduled inspection visit was the chanting of praises by some elated market women for Governor Soludo in spite the fact that, the same group of persons resisted the move earlier.
