The Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, has expressed his gratitude to the people of the Southeastern States for boycotting the protest on August 1st.
Governor Uzodimma noted that the southeastern people often face victimization during national uproars or agitations, citing the looting of shops and businesses, predominantly owned by Southeasterners, in parts of Northern Nigeria during the recent protest.
He reiterated that dialogue remains the only solution to addressing concerns. The Governor emphasized that the current economic challenges, which led to the protest, are not peculiar to the present administration.
Governor Uzodimma lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his courage and leadership in initiating economic reforms aimed at transforming Nigeria’s economy. He appealed to all Nigerians to be patient and allow time for the President’s reforms to take shape.
