Gov Uzodinma Commissions Completed Water Projects Constructed By Imo Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Iwuanyanwu

The absence of disparity in the pattern of equal spread of Constituency Projects and distribution of basic amenities like electricity, drinkable water, markets, healthcare, economic empowerment programmes, etc, are critical determinants of robust, quality and effective representation in a saner clime.

The Honourable Member representing Nwangele Constituency, who also doubles as Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu, has left no one in any doubt that he is committed to fulfilling his campaign promises and keeping to the social contract entered with the mass of the members of his Constituency, who voted him into office during the last general elections.

Since water is life, the provision of portable and clean water is perhaps the most vital aspect of human life, as people depend on water for drinking, cooking, washing, carrying away wastes, and other domestic needs.

However, in a bid to making water available to rural communities, the Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, last Saturday, May 7, 2021, flagged off and commissioned three out of the 11 functional boreholes constructed and powered by the Member representing Nwangele Constituency, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu, in line with the 3Rs Mantra of the Shared Prosperity Administration.

The commissioning of the Water Project Scheme situated at the 11 Wards across Nwangele LGA; which also comes in phases, kick -started with Abajah Ward 2, Amaigbo Ward 4 and Amaigbo Ward 3 respectively; where community leaders, party chieftains, women groups and the youths heartily welcomed the entourage of the Imo State Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, amid commendations.

Speaking during the official flag -off and commissioning of the Water Project Scheme, Imo State Governor ably represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Water Resources, Barr. Chief Tony Umezuruike (Aririerimba of Owerri), said the Shared Prosperity Administration in the state made some promises during the campaign period, part of which clean water is sacrosanct.


The Water Resources Commissioner, on behalf of the State Governor, thanked Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, KSC, for practically complimenting the efforts of the State Government in his immediate Nwangele Constituency part of which was fulfilling his campaign promises of provision of portable and clean water to the rural dwellers.

He also appreciated the Lawmaker in no small measures for aligning his legislative functions and Constituency projects with people-oriented programmes and policy thrusts of the Imo State Government, which is evident in the feat he has achieved within a short space of time in office.


Addressing the various communities, Chief Umezuruike, on behalf of the Imo State Governor, said, “Your worthy son and special representative, Amara Iwuanyanwu, is truly loved by the State Governor and he is also one of the trusted political allies of His Excellency. The Ministry of Water Resources under my watch shall partner with his office in other areas of development in Nwangele LGA”.
“On behalf of the Imo State Governor, His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodinma, I hereby commission this water project powered by Mr. Capacity, in the name of God the Father, of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen!”

Speaking during his remarks, the obviously elated Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu, thanked Governor Hope Uzodinma for according Nwangele Constituency the rare honour of commissioning the Water Project despite being unavoidably absent but ably represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Water Resources, Barr. Chief Tony Umezuruike.

Amara Iwuanyanwu, while charging the various communities to take good care of the water projects sited in their areas, maintained that it would not have been possible without Governor Hope Uzodinma.

In his own words, the egghead State Legislator posited, “His Excellency, Sen. Hope Uzodinma is the capacitor that gives light to capacity to ensure that Nwangele LGA is a major beneficiary of the dividends of democracy under the Shared Prosperity Administration. And with Mr. Capacity, Hope is assured in Nwangele”.


From Chief Dona Iwuagwu, High Chief Maurice Onwukwe, Arch. Festus Anyiam, Chief Charles Nnamdi Nnorom, among other leaders of the three wards, whose boreholes were commissioned by Governor Hope Uzodinma, poured encomiums on the member representing Nwangele Constituency, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu, describing him as a worthy son and representative of his people.

In their separate remarks, Chief Dona Iwuagwu, High Chief Maurice Onwukwe, Arch. Festus Anyiam , Hon. Chief Melody Mbamara and Chief Charles Nnorom, Esq, expressed their profound gratitude to Imo State Governor for finding their son, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu, a worthy political ally and trusted apostle of the Shared Prosperity Administration under his watch.

SA Political Matters, Hon. Dr. Batos Nwadike, reaffirmed his implicit confidence in the political will power and leadership capacity of Governor Hope Uzodinma in addressing the temporary security challenge in the state, which security operatives are fighting head-on to curb the menace.
