Governor Bello Has Silenced Critics In Kogi – Media Aide

Posted on February 1, 2017

The Director General on Media and Publicity to the Governor of Kogi State, Kingsley Fanwo has said that the critics have nothing to hold on against the Governor Yahaya Bello judging from what he achieved in one year in office.

The Governor’s spokesman, who reiterated the determination of Governor Bello to focus on the development of Kogi State, said that the government is taking the state to greater  heights through the New Direction Agenda.

According to him, opposition against the present administration has been “oiled by the desperation for 2019”, which he said is “untimely, uncalled for and a reflection of the political agitation for selfish reasons”.

“The last 365 days in Kogi State have shown the difference the present administration has made through purposeful leadership, infrastructural development and a sign of better days ahead for the state. Those who want to play politics can continue to play politics while the Governor remains committed to deliver on his campaign promises.

“Since they have gone to report the Governor to the Presidency for building an architectural masterpieces for the Board of Internal Revenue and the State Development Goal, it has now been simplified for discerning minds to decipher their lack of focus and desperation for power. They do not have the interest of our dear state at heart.

“The gusto with which the Governor pursued the Civil Service Reforms is a clear demonstration of his will to right the long vitiation of the system over the years. The revelations from the exercise as well as the transparency of the process are reflective of the genuineness and necessity of the exercise.

“Aside turning Kogi into a construction hub with road constructions going on across the three Senatorial Districts of the state, the State has launched healthcare programs that will not only afford the citizens top-notch healthcare, but also leave more money in the pockets of the citizenry. Government is also creating the right facilities and environment to pilot its number one objective which is education. Governor Yahaya Bello has already declared a state of emergency in the agricultural sector as the state is in the path to becoming the food basket of the nation.

“The recent visits of the Governor to the three Senatorial Districts to commission projects, assess ongoing ones as well as flag off new projects; afforded the Governor the opportunity to gauge his popularity ratings. He arrived Ekinrin Adde a few minutes after 9pm and the whole place was locked down as supporters trooped out enmasse to welcome their Governor. The people of Kogi State love their Governor and the gates of Abuja jester protests will not prevail”.

Fanwo said James Faleke should accept fate and join hand with the Governor to develop Kogi State.

“Governor Yahaya Bello has never minced words on his readiness to work with anyone who aspires to develop Kogi State. Faleke should stop embarrassing the values Kogi people stand for. We are peaceful people with big dreams for development.

“Only God gives power. It is unfair and irresponsible to attempt to make Kogi ungovernable. The people are on the same page with their Governor”.

He called on opponents of government to stop wasting time on attempts at distracting the Governor, saying the Governor is determined more than ever to develop Kogi State.

“We have started well”, he said,  accusing opponents of attempting to “slow down the pace of development in the state”.

“Let them be protesting in Abuja while we keep developing Kogi State. Many of them will soon know the truth and consequently be set free”.

When reminded that PDP referred to the present administration as a kindergarten government, Fanwo said he was not surprised. “They made a sound to remind us that they are still breathing. It is a welcome development. We need a strong and virile opposition party to keep our focus and create records”.

He urged the people of Kogi State to remain steadfast and continue to support the present administration to “rebuild, reconstruct and repackage Kogi State for global reckoning”.
