The Ikeja Local Government today commenced the official activities marking Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda’s 100 Working Days in Office with an impactful and historic Day One that showcased youth leadership, educational development, healthcare support, and infrastructural advancement.

A major highlight of the day was the Celebration of the One-Day Chairman, One-Day Vice Chairman, and One-Day Leader of the House, an unprecedented initiative in Nigeria’s local government system. All activities were led by the One-Day Chairman, Miss Zainab Ismail, a pupil of St. Peter’s Primary School, Alausa, who emerged winner of the 2025 Ikeja Spelling Bee Competition. Her leadership throughout the day symbolized the administration’s commitment to raising confident, visionary young leaders.

Under her guidance, the One-Day Chairman commissioned the newly rehabilitated Morenike Close, marking a significant infrastructural upgrade within the community. She further presided over the commissioning of 12 renovated blocks of classrooms, now furnished with modern desks, chairs, and enhanced learning materials, aligning with the administration’s goal of improving learning conditions for Ikeja pupils.

The day also featured a highly successful Free Medical Outreach for 200 senior citizens, which provided free tests, drugs, medical kits, and special cash support. This initiative reflects the AKOD-led administration’s dedication to the welfare and dignity of the elderly population in Ikeja.

Today’s activities are a clear demonstration of the I.K.E.J.A Agenda; the master blueprint of the AKOD-led administration and a testament to Chairman AKOD’s resolve to deliver the Better Days promised during the campaign.

In attendance were the Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Abisola Omisore; the Council Manager, Mrs. Juliana Taiwo Odubeko, who led the management team; all six councillors led by the Leader of the House, Hon. Ogunseye Rasheed Adisa (ORA); the APC Ikeja LGA Chairman, Alhaji Dally Adeokun; Engr. Kehinde Akinola; Chief Ologunde; Apostle Olowoporoku; and other party stalwarts and community leaders.

Day Two of the celebration continues tomorrow with more project commissioning and impactful engagements for the people of Ikeja.
