As the nation stands at the threshold of a new era under the leadership of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the eyes of Nigerian youths are fixed on the potential transformation that lies ahead. Amidst the vibrant events surrounding the selection of cabinet ministers and the vacancy of the office of the Minister of Youths Development , a resounding call emerges from the heart of the youth populace: the appointment of Hon. Dayo Isreal as the Minister for Youths Development.
Hon. Dayo Isreal, the present National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has etched his name in the record of Nigerian political landscape as a young, inspirational and empathetic leader. His tenure as the National Youth Leader has not only seen the expansion of the scope of his office but also the growth of an entire generation of politically conscious and empowered young individuals, comprising of the GenZ & millennials alike.
A trailblazer in every sense, Hon. Dayo Isreal embarked on an unprecedented nation-wide, state-by-state tour across the 36 states of Nigeria. This journey, ahead of the elections, witnessed him diligently championing the ideals of the progressive party and wholeheartedly endorsing President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Today, as President Tinubu stirs the helm of affairs, the nation awaits the final couple appointments to his cabinet, and at the heart of this anticipation lies the potential for Hon. Dayo Isreal to steer the ship of youth development.
For many of us in the APC Youth sector, Hon. Dayo Isreal is not just a leader, but a beacon of hope and inspiration. His performance as National Youth Leader has been nothing short of stellar, and his profile resonates with the essence of leadership that Nigeria’s youths deserve.
As the General Secretary of the National Congress of Akoko Students and an APC Youth stakeholder from Akoko, Ondo State, I am humbled to stand witness to his remarkable journey.
My journey with Hon. Dayo Isreal began during the challenging days of the Covid-19 lockdown. As a volunteer and research assistant, I witnessed his tireless dedication to the daily ‘Convinspiration’ online program, which offered solace, guidance, and motivation to countless Nigerian youths during a time of uncertainty. This experience deepened my respect for his commitment to empowering the youth, a commitment that extends to this day.
Furthermore, during the South West tour in the lead-up to the elections, I had the privilege of traversing the region alongside Hon. Dayo Isreal. His charisma, strategic acumen, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the progressive party were evident at every turn. His magnetic connection with the youth audience and the way he shared his stories was undeniable & inspiring , showcasing his remarkable ability to bridge generational gaps and inspire meaningful political engagement.
It is important to recognize that Hon. Dayo Isreal, like any leader, is not devoid of imperfections. However, his dedication, his accomplishments, and his evident passion for Nigerian youth advancement overshadow any shortcomings . As the Ministry for Youths Development remains a pivotal space for shaping the nation’s future, the call for his appointment is underpinned by the understanding that he will utilize this office to drive meaningful change, foster inclusivity, and create opportunities for the youth population.
In closing, I join my voice with countless others in urging President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider the appointment of Hon. Dayo Isreal as the Minister for Youths Development. It is a call rooted in the belief that Nigeria’s youths deserve a leader who not only comprehends their aspirations but is also willing to walk the path of progress hand in hand with them. Hon. Dayo Isreal is such a leader, and under his stewardship, the Ministry for Youths will undoubtedly become a beacon of hope and empowerment for all.
