A member of the supporters’ group of Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, Osinbajo Shakioye, has condemned what he described as attempts by opposition elements to create unnecessary tension over the recent APC primary election for Ikorodu Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly race.
Shakioye stated that there should be no cause for alarm if the opposition truly believed they emerged victorious in the primary election.
According to him, some opposition figures have been spreading misleading narratives in a bid to create confusion among party members and residents of the constituency.
“Our attention has been drawn to the false tension being raised by some persons over the just concluded primaries of Ikorodu Constituency I for the Lagos State House of Assembly,” he said.
He maintained that supporters of Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye remain confident in the credibility of the process and urged party faithful not to be distracted by what he termed unfounded claims.
Shakioye also called on supporters to remain calm, vigilant, and united in protecting the integrity of the electoral process.
“This is the time to defend and protect our votes by mobilizing our people across various election grounds,” he added.
The statement comes amid growing political discussions within Ikorodu following the APC primaries, with stakeholders closely monitoring developments within the constituency.
