Hon Salawu Set To Reward Outstanding Students

 The multiple award winning Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu (Dullar), is set to embark on a multi-million Naira bursary scheme for students in the Local Government Area of Lagos State. 

 

The bursary scheme according to the Special Adviser on Education to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, is the ultimate provision of educational support to the youths for the development of Somolu. The YabaTech graduate assured youths and students residing in Somolu of a coordinated and transparent bursary scheme which is part of the electoral promises made by the Mayor of Somolu, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu.

 

Recall that the Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu led administration in Somolu Local Government had earlier this year instituted adult education centres across Somolu to help above school age people in Somolu to improve in areas of communication, greetings and business calculations.

More so, the Local Government boss who is also the Director for Local Government Affairs in the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Independent Campaign Organization (BOSICG), said he won’t relent on his effort to give free JAMB and WAEC (GCE) forms to support education in Somolu.

 

The businessman cum politician who is known to be a good listener and great lover of education, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, made it known that his love for education knows no bound. “When you fund education, a life is changed positively and that is the more reasons we should give every support for education to flourish in Somolu” he said.

 

The forms will be available for free but with means of identification from Monday, December 31, 2018 through the Special Adviser on Education, Somolu, Hon. Lateef Ashimi. He can be contacted on 08033603975.

 

“The bursary is designed to benefit students of higher institutions who reside in Somolu, with government approved means of identification to prove their residence and studentship” Ashimi said.
