The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, on Wednesday presented the annual budget of the Council to the Legislative House for the 2023 fiscal year.

The budget tagged, “Budget of Sustainable Development”, which totals N2.6 billion, is meant to fund and sustain a variety of programmes and initiatives aimed at improving the lives of citizens in Ojodu LCDA.

The major focus of the budget is the sustenance of the administration’s H.E.Y.S Agenda (Health, Education, Youth Empowerment, and Social Infrastructure), which is also in tandem with the Lagos State Government’s T.H.E.M.E.S agenda and the United Nations global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Hon Segun Odunmbaku announced plans to further improve the living standards of Ojodu citizens through strengthened Public Private Partnerships, inter-governmental collaborations, people-oriented projects as well as rejuvenation of public infrastructures.

“We are mindful of the need to ensure continuous provision of the dividends of democracy for our people as our own obligation for their freely-given mandate to us. We are also determined to protect and consolidate our achievements recorded so far” Odunmbaku assured.

Overall, the budget aims to address the needs of the community while also promoting long-term growth and prosperity.

In his remarks, the Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira, eulogized Hon Odunmbaku’s administration for embarking on the journey of “sustainable development”, which would ultimately lead to lasting and more effective development in the long term.

The Mayor assured the Council members that the budget was carefully crafted and tailored to address the needs of the community while also promoting long-term growth and prosperity as enshrined in the H.E.Y.S Agenda of his administration.

In attendance at the event were traditional leaders, religious leaders, security officers, political leaders and party faithful, Executive Committee members, Management team, Youth Representatives and teaming citizens of Ojodu LCDA.
