Hon Segun Odunmbaku Unveils H.E.Y.S RELOADED Agenda

The performance driven Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon Segun Odunmbaku, has unveiled his H.E.Y.S RELOADED Agenda.

 

The Ojodu Mayor, Odunmbaku, in a chat with newsmen on Wednesday 18th June, 2025, hinted that he will continue from the huge strides made in the last four years with expansion of the agenda in different areas in order to accommodate more projects, touch more lives and achieve maximum success.

 

 

He listed the strides as follows:

HEALTH

  • Rehabilitation of Apata Primary Health Center.

  • Upgrade of Gbadamosi and Apata primary health centers to operate on 24hrs services.

  • Donation of N1 Million to kidney patient (Mrs. Hassan Adebamijoko).

  • Commissioned Agidingbi PHC.

  • Employed 120 medical personnel (Doctors, Midwives, community Health workers, Health Attendants, Medical Recorders).

  • Employed additional 78 medical personnel (2024).

    • 5 Dentistry

    • 3 Optometrist

    • 3 Nurses

    • 6 Medical Laboratory Scientists / Technician

    • 14 Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW)

    • 18 Health Attendant

    • 12 Health Information Management (Recorder)

    • 2 Medical Records Clerk

    • 4 Pharmacy Technician

    • 1 Pharmacist

    • 8 Health Education / Nutritionist

    • 1 Security

    • 1 Driver / Rider

  • Procurement of Two Ambulance and Two mobile Tricycle Ambulances for prompt medical services.

  • Organized Free MAMMOGRAM for women above 40 years at Ogba PHC in conjunction with Nigerian Physician from America, USA.

  • Partnered with Eko Club Atlanta (USA) on Free Medical Mission at Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) (Over Five Thousand Beneficiaries).

  • Integrated Health Mission at Oluwole Tarmac, Ogba (Fibroid and Eye Surgery for 1500 beneficiaries).

  • Free Medical and Free Health Insurance for 1000 residents Under Lashma and Ekosha (Most Vulnerable, Elderly Widows, Orphans, Pregnant Women and 50 insurance for PWD (Lascoda)

  • Flag-off ceremony of the National Immunization plus Days (NIPDS).

  • Medical Outreach at Ogba PHC which includes:

    • Organized a 5 day cervical cancer screening project for 250 women and malignant cases were treated in conjunction with LASUTH at Ogba PHC.

    • Free Dental Procedures and Eye Test/Free Medicated Glasses for 552 Beneficiaries.

  • Organized Ojodu Free Health programme for accessible medical services and Free Surgical Programme worth 8 Million Naira at Ogba PHC.

• Free surgical programme: 342 minor surgeries like Hernia repairs, Lumps, Vasectomy, Removal of Cysts or Benign Tumor were carried out successfully at Ogba PHC.

  • Weekly See – a – Doctor Programme with consultants from LASUTH. So, the Underlisted Surgeries had been carried out.

    • 30 Lipoma Surgery

    • 65 Hernia Surgery

    • 12 Breast Lump Surgery • 18 Keloid Surgery

    • 11 Lumpectomy Surgery

    • 6 Hydrocele Surgery

    • 3 Fibroid Surgery

  • Total Renovation of Powerline PHC, Oke-ira (completed).

  • Acquired land for Mini prototype General Hospital at Oluwole Estate, Ogba.

  • Distribution of mama kit to 100 pregnant women and Nursing mothers at the Year 2024 breastfeeding week.

  • Gbadamosi / Ojodu PHC – Council acquired land for remodeling and reconstruction of Gbadamosi PHC (Completed)) the flagship of all Primary Health Center in Ojodu LCDA.

  • Installation of Three 10KVA solar inverter at Powerline PHC, Apata PHC and Gbadamosi PHC

  • Regular Desilting of Drainages to prevent flooding across six wards.

  • Total Rehabilitation of Powerline PHC.

  • Reconstruction of Akiode PHC (90% completed)

  • Inaugurated Eye and Dental Free Care Clinic at Oluwole, Ogba PHC

  • Newly renovated Ogba Primary Health Centre in collaboration with WaterAid Nigeria and Supported by Kimberly Clark Integrated Hygiene and Health Projects (I-HHP)

  • Procurement of a state-of-the-art Dental equipment (Chair) with inbuilt X-ray at Ogba PHC.

  • Procurement of Laboratory test analyzer at Ogba PHC

  • Introducing of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Cards at all Primary Health Centers in Ojodu

  • Okeira central phc deliveries of babies from 2023 till date.

  • For 2023: Male 14 &Female 16 =30

  • For 2024: Male 16 & Female 10 =26

  • For 2025 Jan to May: Male 2 & Female 6 =8

  • Total Deliveries from January 2023 to Date is 64

  • Male:32 & Female :32

  1. WATERAID NIGERIA

  1. Training of ward health committees on Water Sanitation and Hygiene methodology (WASH) and sustainability (30 Ward Health Committee & 50 Volunteers from the CDA).

  2. Donation of Vital Health Supplies to the Council (Liquid soap, Aqua tab and Oral

Rehydration Solution)

  1. Installation of a 15,000 -liter solar powered borehole with a treatment plant,

Upgrade of the Maternal and Children’s Ward and Donating Modern Medical

  1. Equipment’s and sanitation Facilities at Ogba PHC

  1. LIONS CLUB

  1. Renovation of Ogba PHC.

  2. Renovation of Gbadamosi PHC.

  3. Distribution of 200 food packages to vulnerable Residents

EDUCATION

Procurement and Distribution of 700 G.C.E. forms to indigent students from 2022 – 2024.

  • Procurement and Distribution of 1300 JAMB forms to qualified individuals within the community from 2022 – 2025.

  • Organized Extensive/comprehensive coaching classes for 500 JAMB and G.C.E candidates at Information Technology Hub for proficiency in CBT.

  • Distribution of 150 Back-to-School kits to pupils (Books, Mathematical Set, School Bags and Uniforms).

  • Empowered Teachers with cash gifts of N1 Million yearly and N1.5 Million this year to reward performance after undergoing evaluation test.

    • 1st prize    N250,000  • 2nd prize   N150,000

    • 3rd prize   N100,000

    • N50,000 each consolation for other 15 participants.

  • Upgrade of ICT center at shogunro to Info-Tech hub with alternative power supply for manpower development in relevant courses.

  • Donated 1 Million Naira towards procurement of a bus for Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Ikeja Branch.

  • Organized Digital skill training for pupils in all Public Primary schools and Junior Secondary school students in the LCDA in partnership with Kids Zone Fellowship.

    • 2,631 pupils were trained in the primary school category.

    • 2,168 students trained in the junior secondary school category. ✞ Procurement of Exercise Books 60,000 copies (2022 – 2024).

  • Procurement of 600 pairs of desks and benches to all public schools.

  • Renovation of a Block of Classrooms at Ogba Primary School.

  • Distribution of scholarship and bursary award to students in reward for Academic Excellence.

    • 2023    20 beneficiaries (N50,000 each).

    • 2024  Scholarship Award (2 first class students got N500,000 each) while 29 students got N50,000 each for bursary award.

    • 2025  50 Students got N50,000 each for bursary award.

  • Recruitment of (12) security personnel to all the public primary schools in the LCDA.

  • Recruitment of (6) cleaners for public primary schools to enhance good cleaning culture and hygiene in schools.

  • Renovation of schools

    • Re-roofing of oke-ira junior secondary school building.

    • Rehabilitation of (6) blocks of classrooms at estate primary school (90% completed).

Provision of (N50,000) as monthly running cost for all head teachers in public schools within Ojodu LCDA.

Procurement and Distribution of 1,500 copies of Revision textbooks for primary 5 and 6 pupils in preparation for Common Entrance Examination.

  • Construction of School Fence at Ogba Primary School.

  • 1Million Naira for out of School kids (School Fees, Uniforms and textbooks).

  • In conjunction with LASAA & OMO DAADA Foundation, Donated 250 Bag packs and Exercise Books to pupils of Ojodu Primary School as part of Welcome Back to School programme 2024/2025 session.

  • Organizes Free JAMB Tutorial Classes including afternoon classes for all registered candidates by Ojodu LCDA.

  • Procurement and Distribution of 500 pairs of desks and benches to Primary schools in Ojodu LCDA.

YOUTH & WOMEN DEVELOPMENT

  • Engaged Flux Technology in Training 78 Youths in the following Areas: UI / UX, Data Analysis, Digital Marketing

  • Distribution of Tools and Working Kits i.e. (Sewing Machines, Make Up Kits, Automobile Repair Tools, Blending Machines) to 1000 Women and Youths.

  • Partnered with SPEED UP LAGOS on Vocational skills acquisition at shogunro vocational center to train over 1300 resident’s women and youths in various skills.

  • Employed 250 Non-Pensionable staff.

  • Trained 60 Youths on Waste to Wealth Creation in partnership with Rotary Club Gbagada and LAWMA.

  • Inducted and Graduated (36 Youths) on Agricultural Training Programme in (Piggery, Fishery, Crop Production, Cattle, Sheep and Goat Production).

  • Partnered with KENNOL on Vocational Training of 20 Youths in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Works with provision of working tools for participants.

  • Organized 3 Month Mega Training Programme skills acquisition and Business Management for 250 residents (Makeup & Gele, Tye & Dye and Soap Making).

  • Five days Intensive Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Technology Training for 53 Youths.

  • Distribution of 75 free POS machines to Artisans with cash Incentive of 2Million.

  • Technical Training for 18 Youth in partnership with ETL Engineering Services.

  • Digital Training for 70 Staffs of Ojodu LCDA on 21st ICT century skills.

  • Presentation of 20 Million Naira Interest Free Loan and start up grant for small and medium scale business in Ojodu LCDA (10 Million Naira for SMEs and 5 Million Naira for market men and women and 5 Million Naira for POS operators) in conjunction with THRIVE Microfinance Bank.

Two weeks of Intensive Training on Advanced Solar System Technology and Entrepreneurship for 14 Youths.

Organized Three days training for 200 unemployed Youths in Ojodu LCDA on Employability skills and Career Coaching.

  • Trained 30 Women on Jewelry making.

  • Organized workshop on Gender Based Violence for Women Development at the Council Secretariat.

  • Empowerment of 200 Women through seminar on Women Inclusion in conjunction with ECOWAS FEBWE.

  • Twenty (20) Youths benefitted from Youth Employability Programme in conjunction with Lagos State Government (Fashion, Agriculture, Teaching, Construction, Logistics and Entertainment).

Provision of Reliefs for Ojodu LCDA’s Widows.

  • Donation of Cash Grant, Wheel Chairs and 10kg food items worth N1,210,000 Million

Naira to Widows, Elderly and PLWD’s.

  • Organized the Third Widows Support Programme.

  • Partnership with Honey Treat Academy to Train 20 Youths on Plumbing, Masonry, Tiling, Carpentry etc.

  • Distribution of Empowerment items (5 Industrial Sewing Machines, 5 Deep Freezers and cash grants of N100,000 each) to 50 Widows, Less Privileged, Single Mothers and Artisan. In addition, 5 Wheelchairs were donated to Children with special needs while

N250,000 cash grant with various food items and household essentials were presented to Super Parents Foundation by Ojodu LCDA jointly hosted by Ikeja Lg and Onigbongbo LCDA.

 SOCIAL AND INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

  • MTN Nigeria as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, donated items worth 1 Million Naira to Life Fountain Orphanage (Omole Estate).

  • Donated 14 mini buses to communities to ease commuting in order to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal. Cumulatively we have been able to transport over 250,000 school children and residents free of charge from August 2023 till date.

  • 1 Million Naira donated by Mikano for PHC

  • Organized the sales of highly subsidized 5kg food items for 2,500 beneficiaries as subsidy removal palliatives for community members (5kg Rice, 5kg Beans, 5kgGarri, Palm Oil, Groundnut Oil, Yam, Tomatoes, 1 Crate of eggs, Onions Chicken and Beef etc) sold at N1000 each per item.

  • Organized Zero Hunger Food Relief Programmes for 5,500 beneficiaries through Ojodu Food Bank at subsidized prices to community members across the six wards in Ojodu LCDA.

Distribution of Palliative to Ojodu residents and N50,000 Naira Cheque Gift to NANO Traders as part of the End of the Year Programme 2023.

  • Distribution of 10kg Food Combo to 600 Ojodu LCDA Staffs, 100 Uniform Officers and Staff of LSPWC.

  • Held Breakfast Meeting with Organized Private Sector for seamless collaboration.

  • Partnered with WaterAid and PEPSICO to provide WASH FACILITIES (Water Sanitation and Hygiene) at Agidingbi Junior Grammar School, markets and health centers.

  • Renovation of Palace and Presentation of Official Vehicle to HRH, Kabiyesi of Aguda,  Oba Akeem Agbaosi Eweobaja 1 and promised to extend to the Baale’s with increased Welfare.

  • Completion of LSDPC Community Hall at Ward A.

  • Constructed and Completed Modern Public Toilet facilities at Agidingbi mechanic village.

  • Construction of Office Complex at the Council Secretariat (80% complete).

  • Renovation of Area Office, Ogba.

  • Two solar pumping machines in ward E facilitated by Hon. Lekan Peters.

Procurement and Donation of 5 patrol vans for Ojodu Police station, Ogba Police station, Alausa Police station, Pen-Cinema Police station and Ojodu Task Force Unit.

  • Completion and Commissioning of Soyemi street Oke Ira

  • Construction and Completion of an Outpost police station at Obokun Avenue, Ojodu.

  • Renovation of Oke-ira Police post.

  • Commissioned the New Legislative Building.

  • Desilting of canals and drainages at Aina Street, Oke-Ira canal, Ogba, Oluwole Tarmac, Area G e.t.c.

  • Installation of Solar Powered Alternative Energy at Obokun and Oke-ira police post.

  • Distribution of Season Greetings Food Palliative to Ojodu residents across the six (6) wards in Ojodu LCDA.

  • Ojodu LCDA Partners with LIONS CLUB to distribute 200 food packages to vulnerable residents in Ojodu LCDA.

  • Channelization of primary Drainage system with Slits Evacuation from Murhi International Building to Yakoyo Alagbole underbridge covering wards B to F.

  • Completion and commissioning of Irebawa and Oduroye street.

  • Construction of Ojodu LCDA’s Council Mosque, Chapel and Customary Court at the Secretariat.

  • Desilting and Drainage restructuring at Abiodun Sobajo, Adeleye and Tade street in Agidingbi Community in Ward E.

  • Reconstruction of Odo Eran plank market.

  • Reconstruction of Sunday Market.

  • Proposed Vocational/ICT Training Center at Shogunro Estate

  • Proposed sport complex at Oluwole Estate

 
 
 
The Ojodu Mayor used the opportunity afforded by the chat with newsmen to laud the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Hon James Abiodun Faleke, for the various empowerment initiatives and ensuring that Ojodu Constituents and others in the two other Local Councils making up the Federal Constituency enjoy the dividends of democracy and quality representation.
 
 
Hon Odunmbaku praised Mr. President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, for the policies he embarked on; stopping the fuel subsidy and freeing up more funds to States and Local Government Areas to embark on more projects. He also commended the President for other strides recorded in the last two years while asking the people to stand with him come 2027 for the continuation of Renewed Hope Agenda.
