Hon. Seyi Sowunmi Assures Constituents of Inclusive, Progressive Representation

Following the successful inauguration of the 10th National Assembly, Honourable Seyi Sowunmi, member of the House of Representatives, representing Ojo Federal Constituency of Lagos State under the platform of Labour Party has affirmed his commitment to providing quality and progressive representation.

The newly inducted lawmaker noted that he is going to champion live changing legislation and facilitating impactful initiatives and programs for the betterment of his constituents and Nigerians at large.

He reiterated this during the inaugural dinner put together by his family and close friends to celebrate his inauguration into the 10th National Assembly.

The Dinner was held at Abuja Continental Hotel on 13 June 2023.

Also, back home, Sowunmi played host to his prominent constituents at an event to thank them for the trust and support reposed in him as their representative at the House of Representatives.

The event was held on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at the Palatable Fast Food & Event Centre, Okokomaiko, Lagos.

The two events had in combined attendance hundreds of guests from Ojo Federal Constituency including prominent traditional rulers, Christian leaders from Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Muslim leaders from Council of Chief Imams and Ulama and Nasrul-lahi-li Fathi Society of Nigeria (NASFAT), community leaders, Labour Party’s leaders and members from National, State and LGA, other political parties’ faithfuls, and notable figures from the constituency.

During his speech, Sowunmi expressed deep gratitude to the constituents for entrusting him with the responsibility of representing their voices and concerns at the national level.

He emphasised his unwavering commitment to serve with integrity, transparency, and diligence, placing the needs and aspirations of the Ojo community at the forefront of his agenda.

According to him, politics is an opportunity to continue his interest in developing people, businesses and communities.

In his words, “I stand before you today as your representative irrespective of your political affiliations. The election is over. Now, I represent all the good people of Ojo Federal Constituency regardless of your ethnic, political or religious affiliation.

“My pledge is to provide quality representation, championing live changing legislation and facilitating impactful initiatives and programs for the betterment of our people.

“Your voices will be heard, your concerns will be addressed, and your dreams will be supported. I will be your strong advocate for good governance, transparency, and accountability, ensuring that the resources entrusted to us are utilized efficiently and for the benefit of all. Together, we will create a better future for Ojo, our beloved community, and contribute to the overall progress of the country”.

In the same vein, Sowunmi, while felicitating the Muslim faithful on the celebration of El Eid Adha, urged his constituents and Nigerians at large to embrace the lessons of El Eid Adha in their daily dealings with fellow countrymen.

The lessons, he stated, are sacrifice, peaceful coexistence and total trust in God at all times.
