A 35-year old housewife, Mrs. Amaka Oranwe, has been arrested for stabbing her house boy, Master Ifesinachi Ibekwe, with a kitchen knife in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at 26 Anipele Street Mushin, Lagos, where they resided.

The victim suffered severe injury on his hands and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the victim was brought from the village from the Eastern part of the country as a house boy. He was said to have wrongly offended his madam and she inflicted injury on him by using a kitchen knife to stab him severally.
However, before she could conceal the act, the neighbours contacted the police who went to their house and rescued the victim. They then arrested Amaka and detained her at the police station.

Their neighbours wondered what would have led Amaka to take such action as they described it as an act of wickedness. It was gathered that the suspect was angry with her house boy over an undisclosed domestic matter, she then took a knife, inflicted injuries on his hand and he was bled profusely.

Her action has landed her in trouble as she was not only arrested but charged before Ikeja Magistrates court for serious assault.

She pleaded not guilty on the alleged offence.

The prosecutor, Inspector Benson Emuerhi, did not oppose her being granted bail but informed the court that the victim was seriously injured as a result of the attack.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs O. Sule-Amzat granted her bail in the sum of N20,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 22nd November, 2018.
The defendant, Mrs. Amaka, was said to have her own children who she does not maltreat talk less of using a knife on. As such she was said to have seen the victim as a slave that can be treated anyhow.
