How Lagos PPRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, 42 Others Were Decorated With New Ranks

Lagos State Police spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, was on Wednesday 6th January, 2021, decorated alongside 42 others with the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP.

The event took place at the POWA Hall, Oduduwa, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos State.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, who took out his time to decorate the newly promoted officers, also celebrated with them.

According to the CP,  who congratulated the new Senior Officers on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu,NPM,mni, he also expressed in his speech that the joy of every leader is to witness the elevation and progress of his subordinates in their chosen career, especially in an enviable and loving profession like the Nigeria Police Force.

He advised them to remain vibrant and dedicated officers and men who will raise their heads tall amidst the security challenges bedeviling the country with a view to subduing them in compliance with the policies and strategies of the present Police leadership.

While addressing the Senior Officers, CP Odumosu stated categorically that to whom much is given, much is expected as the Nigeria Police Force expects much from the officers.
He urged them to harness all legitimate resources both human and material within their reach to improve policing in Lagos State and Nigeria at large.

“It is fundamental to remind you that promotion is a call to duty and it is of no exception in the Nigeria Police Force. With this elevation, it is expected of you to be more active, responsible and committed to your statutory police duties” he said. 

The CP,  who is an advocate of community policing, reminded the officers to embrace the concept of community policing which is aimed at involving all and sundry in the society in problem solving, conflict management, intelligence driven policing and general public safety of the country including Lagos.

The Lagos Police Chief also made known that one thousand, two hundred and fifty (1250) Lagos State Community Policing Special constables were on Tuesday 5th January, 2021, passed out from the Police College, Ikeja.

According to him, those special constables are expected to be deployed back to their respective communities to complement the regular Police officers in law enforcement functions by performing low risk and non sensitive police duties.
He advised the newly promoted officers to make use of them in their areas of responsibilities in order to actualize the goals of the policing philosophy.


CP Odumosu also appreciated the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, AIG Ahmed Iliyasu, for also taking out his time to decorate some of the officers of the Command with new ranks of Deputy Commissioner of Police and Assistant Commissioner of Police respectively at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters Hall, Onikan on Monday 4th January, 2021.
