How Ogene Igbo Celebrated His 50th Birthday
Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo Campaign Organization on Monday, 3rd of May, 2021, played big host to major players in the broadcast, print and electronic media. The A-list event witnessed creme-de-la-creme of the Anambra Media industry, seasoned journalists, fans and friends of Ogene Igbo – Dr Harris Chuma-Odili, who converged at Nwankpo’s campaign office, Awka, to celebrate the showbiz enigmatic impresario, media icon and social rights activist.
The event was proudly sponsored by the APGA leading Governorship aspirant, Nze Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo.
The excited guests took turns to eulogize Dr. Harris Chuma-Odili, who many described as a thoroughbred journalist, and political pundit.
The Special Assistant to Gov Willie Obiano on New Media, and the brain behind the waves making I-witness media team, Hon Chidiebele Cy Obika, commended Dr. Chuma for his vital role in building a viable online media community in Anambra.
He said, “Dr. Chuma is an outstanding personality, a gift to the New Media practitioners in the state. He has contributed immensely to the growth and development of the Online Media Community in Anambra. With all modesty, he has taken the profession to an enviable level. Chuma is a fearless writer, and renowned good governance advocate, Media Public Relations expert, and a highly celebrated media influencer. He speaks truth to power without minding whose ox is gored. Once Chuma takes a stand on any issue, he would pursue it to a logical conclusion. He is a proud son of Oyi, a critical stakeholder in APGA Oyi Local Government. Indeed, we have come a long way, and I can confidently tell you that Ogene is a good man”.
The CEO and Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Nze Uche Nworah, Ph.D, also used the occasion to commend Chuma’s sterling qualities. He extolled his profound exploits in journalism.
Nze Nworah said, “Chuma’s unique approach to marketing communications job has attracted large followership to his brand. He usually comes up with new ways of doing things, and his style has earned him huge respect amongst his contemporaries. I had a tight schedule today, but insisted on coming down here to celebrate with Chuma because he is one man I cannot afford to fail. As we celebrate him today, we must not fail to recognize that it was through dint of hard work that Chuma got where he is today. May the good Lord bless his new age”.
Speaking at the event, Comrade Emma Ifesinachi, the National Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Anambra State Council, commended Dr. Chuma for his creative ability, and leadership astuteness. He prayed the good Lord to continue to empower him, and sustain his good efforts in mentoring the younger ones in the pen profession.
Earlier, Senator Victor Umeh OFR had congratulated Dr. Chuma on his 50th birthday.He said, “Happy Birthday Eze Ogbono, Ogene Ogbunike! May the Almighty God continue to bless you with good health and strength of both body and soul. I wish you many more happy returns of the day. Congratulations! God bless! Senator Dr Victor Umeh, OFR.”
In the same vein, the APGA strong contender in the forthcoming Gubernatorial election, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji, extolled Dr. Chuma and described him as man who has made tremendous contribution to the Media Community and Development of Anambra State.
“Dr. Chuma-Odili is a thoroughbred, who exhibits professionalism, courage and boldness in his style of journalism; he brings in something different into the field. Happy Ogene Igbo!”
Speaking further, Hon Umeoji noted that Chuma’s life is an inspiration to many, especially to budding young people in the same profession, who have all benefitted from his benevolence. He prayed to Almighty God to bless and protect him, as he continues to render selfless service to humanity.
Also, Senator Dr. Ikemba Ifeanyi Ubah, the Senator of the federal Republic of Nigeria representing Anambra South at the Red Chambers, and the governorship candidate of Young Progressives Party, YPP, in the Anambra Gubernatorial election 2021, via a telephone conversation with Dr Chuma prayed for God’s abundant grace, divine upliftment and direction.
“Chuma, my man, you are a bundle of talents, and I sincerely appreciate your profound effort in using the media as a veritable tool for social rights advocacy. You are a man I admire his guts and gusto, I pray on this special occasion of your birthday celebration to be more circumspect in your political career. It is high time you took inventory on your political life and move to the next level. It is well with you Ogene Igbo. Happy birthday my man” Ubah eulogized.
Nze Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo, who was unavoidably absent, through a telephone conversation publicly apologized for his conspicuous absence at the birthday bash. He appreciated and thanked the guests for the great show of love on his Media Director. Nze Nwankpo promised to carry everyone along if elected as the next Governor of Anambra State. He prayed the Almighty God to bless everyone present at the gig.
