How Police Foiled Robbery Operation At Diamond Estate

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal has narrated how a team of Rapid Respond Squad, RRS foiled a robbery operation and recovered arms at Diamond Estate in Igando area of Lagos.
He stated this during the parade of the criminal suspects arrested across the State at the Police Command, Ikeja, Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that police boss said that on the 9th of April, 2018, RRS patrol team along LASU-Iba expressway were alerted that a commercial Volkswagen bus with registration number, LND 829XW was hijacked by a gang of armed hoodlums with the intent to rob passengers. He said based on the information, the team trailed the vehicle to Diamond Estate, Igando area. When the suspects sighted the approaching police team, sensing danger they abandoned their mission and the vehicle and escaped.
CP Edgal said that when the abandoned vehicle was searched, one locally made pistol and unexpended cartridge was recovered while all the victims were rescued unhurt. He said he wants to assure Lagosians that the police was on the trail of the suspects and they will be arrested soon.
The police boss said that the achievement was as a result of the support the police was getting from the public through information and then police prompt reaction. He said that the police will continue to appreciate the assistance of the public and assured that the police will do their best to ensure that crimes in Lagos State were reduced to the barest minimum.
Some of the suspects paraded included kidnappers, cultists, armed robbers and other criminal elements.
The CP said that the suspects will be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.
