How So-Safe Corps Director Was Assassinated Inside Church During Service

It was a black Sunday inside the church as a 54-year old Celestial Church of God Pastor and Director of Anti-Arms Smuggling for the Social Orientation and Safety (So-Safe) Corps, Yomi Adetula, was murdered by suspected assassins in Ogun State. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the cleric, Pastor Adetula, was brutally killed by suspected assassins in his church on Old Baggage Road, Idi-Iroko Ipokia Local Government Area, on Sunday morning as three men armed with firearms and other weapons stormed the premises shortly after 10 a.m.
There are two angles on how the deceased Director was murdered by the assassins, who were said to be fully prepared before they stormed the church for the operation.
“They shot at him, but the bullets didn’t penetrate. They then used other weapons, including hammers and machetes, to inflict fatal injuries. Their actions made it clear they were hired assassins,” one of residents narrated.
The body of the deceased showed severe wounds and blood stains, which painted a grim picture of the attack on how he was killed by the assassins now at large.
The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP  Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and narrated another angle on how the deceased was murdered.
She said, “Police officers raced to the scene and saw Yomi Adetula, ‘M’, aged 54 years, lifeless in the pool of blood which stained his white celestial garment lying face up”.
“On careful observation, his body was riddled with bullets and his head was not speared… to ensure the victim was really dead, it was mangled with axe.”
“On Police inquiry, information further gathered that three men came into the church, brought out long double barrel gun aimed at their target and fired a shot that brought the deceased down,” she said.
She added that the Police Command has commenced moves to arrest the suspects, who fled into the border area.
“Normalcy has been restored while possible clues will be revealed in the coming days as investigation has been launched into the very sad occurrence,” Odutola said.
