How Student Stole N3m From Home & Gifted Teacher N168,000

Police operatives have arrested a 39-year old female school teacher, Leteefat Salaudeen, of the Community Primary School, Ikotun, Lagos for allegedly collecting the sum of N168,000 and gift items from a 15-year old female student who stole N3m from her parents and brought same to the school.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the teenager, Ndubuisi Promise allegedly stole the N3m belonging to one Angela Akunna, brought it to school and started spending the money with other students in the school.
However, when the teacher, Leteefat Salaudeen, later discovered that Promise stole such huge sum of money, instead of reprimanding her, she demanded for the share of the money and was given the said amount including gift items worth N10,000.
However, the information leaked and got to the owner of the money and the matter was reported to the Police at Ikotun Division. The teenager was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation.
While being interrogated, she implicated the teacher and her friend, Solomon Blessing, 15 and told the Police that they knew that she stole such money and collected their share of the money from her.
The Police found the trio culpable for conspiracy,  stealing and concealment, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT I: “That you, Leteefat Salaudeen, who has been at large, in the month of August, 2024 at about 1120hrs at Community Primary School, Ikotun, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire with two others to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT II:” That you, Leteefat Salaudeen, on the same date time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did collect the sum of One Hundred and Sixty Eight Thousand Six Hundred Naira (N168,600.00) from one Ndubuisi Promise ‘F’ and also a free gift of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) knowing her to be a student and not a trader yet you concealed the information from the school authority and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 98 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, Ndubuisi Promise ‘F’,15, Solomon Blessing ‘F’,15 and two others at large, sometime in the month of August 2024 at about 1030hrs in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the Lagos State Criminal Laws, 2015.”
COUNT IV:”That you, Ndubuisi Promise ‘F’, on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did steal the sum of Three Million Naira Only N3,000,000), property of One Angela Akunna ‘f and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT V:”That you, Solomon Blessing ‘F’, sometimes in the month of July 2024 various times in the aforesaid Magisterial District did conceal the information that Ndubuisi Promise ‘f stole Three Million Naira Only (N3,000,000) from home to school and gave the sum of One Hundred and Sixty Eight Thousand Naira Only (N168,000) to One Iya Leso, part of the stolen money and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 98 of the Lagos State Criminal Laws 2015.”
They were charged separately before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offences and were remanded in correctional center at Kirikiri town and juvenile home respectively pending when they will perfect their bail conditions as ordered by the Court presided by the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Of. Kusanu.
The Court adjourned the matter for mention.
