A teenage native doctor, Timothy Dauda, has landed in trouble in Edo State for allegedly shooting his client, Alex Ezekiel, to death while testing the efficacy of the bullet proof charms he had prepared for him for protection.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Onumu community in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of the State, where Dauda resides and practices as a native doctor.
Tragedy struck after he had prepared the charms and used a gun to test the charms on the victim; the charms failed as he shot his client dead in the process.
The native doctor was subsequently arrested and detained by the Police for murder under the Criminal Laws of the State.
This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Moses Joel Yamu, in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.
He said that the suspect was arrested by personnel of the Igarra Division.
The image maker, Yamu, also stated that the suspect was a self-acclaimed native doctor, who specialised in preparing charms against guns and cutlasses.
He noted that the suspect after preparing the charms for the late Alex Ezekiel tried to test the efficacy of the charms by shooting his client and he died due to injury he sustained.
“Late Alex Ezekiel went to the “native doctor” to get the charms prepared for him. After preparing the charms, the native doctor tried to test the efficacy of the charms by shooting the deceased with a gun.”
“Unfortunately, the deceased sustained fatal injuries, was rushed to Ifejola Hospital, Igarra, where he was certified dead by a medical doctor,” the PPRO said.
The Police spokesman added that the suspect will face prosecution as soon as investigations are concluded by the Police.
