Husband, Wife Sent To Prison For Battering Neighbour

A 43-year old man, Benjamin Shaibu and his wife, Frances, 40 have landed into trouble after they reportedly battered their female neighbour, Chidinma Ijeneme in their compound.

The incident happened at Yomikuye Street in Magodo area of Lagos where they resided.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the couple jointly attacked the victim and inflicted injuries on her body especially on her back and waist. The victim was rushed to a hospital where she was receiving treatment.

The matter was reported to the police and the suspects were arrested and charged before Ogba Magistrates court for assault.

They pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Y.O. Shomade granted them bail in the sum of N20,000 with two sureties in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 21 February, 2018.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the couple and the victim had been having constant quarrels in the compound especially with the wife which eventually involved the husband. It was gathered that the couple then decided to beat her up in order to teach her a lesson and eventually inflicted serious injury on her which landed the victim at the hospital and the couple in custody.
