There is a twist in the recent election conducted by a faction of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, which was organized by the consent judgment president, Chief Solomon Aguene.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the election conducted by the electoral committee  appointed by Chief Aguene, headed by Mr. Cally Odoemena declared Chief Leonard Okafor (Oba Ojoto) as the winner and swore him in as President.

However, the leader of a faction of Ohanaeze led by Chief Linus Igbudu has insisted he is the authentic Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State president, claiming that the recent election that produced Oba Ojoto as the winner was illegitimate.

Chief Igbudu argued that he is the product of legitimate executive members and warned the public to be cautious of those presenting themselves as new executives.

According to Igbudu, the election process was flawed, as it did not follow the proper procedure, which starts from local government areas to the state level. He questioned how an election can be conducted at the state level without electing chairmen for various local government areas.

Igbudu also pointed out that the purported election disregarded a valid court order to maintain the status quo, with the matter set for hearing on 24th April, 2026.

He emphasized that no national body of Ohaneze Ndigbo observed the election, which appeared to be a money-making scheme.

The dispute highlights the importance of following proper procedures and respecting court orders in organizational elections. Igbudu’s faction is urging caution and warning against recognizing the newly elected executives.

It is unclear how the situation will unfold, but it is likely to have implications for Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s leadership and operations in Lagos State.
Igbudu therefore, advised the members of the public to beware of those parading themselves as new executives of Ohanaeze because of Nicodemus election organized by Chief Aguene.

Chief Igbudu stated that the leadership of Ohanaeze will not be held liable for the illegal action.
