A 17-year old boy arrested for allegedly inserting his finger into the private part of a 3-year old girl has told the Police that he was checking to see how women’s private part looked like before he was caught in the act in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ahmadu Bello Road, Railway compound in Ebute Metta area of Lagos State, where they reside.

The suspect told the Police he had heard so much about women’s private part and he decided to check to see how it looked like and inserted his finger into the girl’s private part.

The action has landed him in trouble after he was caught and handed over to the Police at Railway Station and he was detained for interrogation during which he confessed and gave reasons he did so.

The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ebute Metta Magistrates Court for indecent assault on the girl by penetration.

He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector O. Kehinde, did not object to his being granted bail and asked the Court to give a short date for hearing to enable the Police to prove he actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs. A.A. Oshoniyi, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.

However, he was remanded in Juvenile Remand Home pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 2nd September, 2021, for mention.

The names of both the victim and defendant were withheld in line with P.M.EXPRESS policy because they are minors.

However, according to Police sources, despite his age, he will still be prosecuted. And if he is tried and found guilty before the Court, he will be jailed accordingly.
