The leader of the Igbo Community and Ezendigbo in Lagos State, Eze ( Dr) Christian Uchechukwu Nwachukwu, has called on Ndigbo and indeed Nigerians to give every support to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration as he battles to rejig Nigeria to economic prosperity.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Eze Nwachukwu stated this at the Igbo Community Centre in Okota, while speaking on the state of the nation.
He noted that the country is passing through economic hardship over the removal of subsidies and floating of the foreign exchange, which affected the economic situation but added that it was necessary to make the sacrifice for better tomorrow.
Eze Nwachukwu, who is also a member of the Association of Inter tribal Traditional Leaders Association of Nigeria, stated that the entire Igbo Community in Lagos State is in full support for the President and Lagos State Government and believes that with time things will stabilize to prosperity.
He noted that already Port Harcourt and Kaduna refineries have started working and the Naira is gradually coming up and what is needed is for Nigerians to be patient and support President Tinubu in all his policies.
“We should be patient and support the President. He is doing his best to fix Nigeria and with what the president and his team are doing, the hardship will be over in no time.”
Eze Nwachukwu, who also holds the chieftaincy title of Ochiagha of Obodo Ukwu town in Imo State, explained that the Igbo Community has been in existence before 1999 when the political parties were formed.
He stated that the Igbo Community has always supported Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his political parties until he got elected as President and stated that the support had continued because the Igbo Community had confidence in him.
He also noted that the President has over the years supported Ndigbo in Lagos State and that was why the Igbo Community gave him a chieftaincy title. He assured that the support will continue as the relationship between Ndigbo and other ethnic groups remains cordial.
Nwachukwu stated that the difference between the Igbo Community and other groups such as Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Igbo Speaking community, is that Igbo Community is a sociopolitical organization that cuts across the LCDAs and acts as mediator between the Lagos State Government and other ethnic groups in the State.
He explained that the Igbo Community has been working with the Lagos State Government and had successfully organized Lagos at 50 because of the confidence reposed on them by the State Government.
Eze Nwachukwu enjoined Nigerians to continue to pray for President Tinubu as he continues to consolidate and make gains towards restoration of the economy.
