An organization, known as Igbo In the Media in Lagos, has given leadership and humanitarian award to the traditional leader of Ndigbo in Ejigbo kingdom, Eze Alex Nwoye, for his leadership qualities and humanitarian gesture to the less privileged in the society.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the prestigious award was presented to Eze Nwoye on his birthday by the President of the group, Ifeanyi Dike, who led some of their members to honour him.
Dike stated that the group had carefully observed what Eze Nwoye had done in the past and how he distributed palliatives to the less privileged people in Ejigbo Community not minding tribe and religion during the lockdown occasioned by Covid-19.
He hinted that the group noted that he was the only Igbo they observed that had the passion and cared for the people during the trying period hence the group agreed to honour him as reward for his milk of human kindness.

He explained that the group was formed among Media Practitioners to project and protect the image of the Igbo and to add their voices as Ndigbo on suggestions that will enhance the Igbo progress.
In response, Eze Nwoye thanked the group for recognising his little efforts by providing palliatives to people in the area. He said that the award is a kind of motivation which will make him to do more for the less privileged in the society especially during this trying period.
Nwoye said that he did not do it as the richest man but was so passionate about the welfare of the people as their leader over the years and that was why he was given chieftaincy title as Ochiriozua in his hometown, Uga, Aguata Local Government Area in Anambra State.

He called on other privileged people in the society to always support the less privileged people in their area so that there will be peace in the society.
The event was attended by few cabinet members of his Palace, relations and friends, who extolled the virtues of Eze Nwoye and wished him happy birthday.
