Igbomina Leader Celebrates Hashim At 57, Lauds His Legacy of Democracy, National Unity And Philanthropy

Posted on June 27, 2026

An Igbomina leader and President of Egbe Omo Igbomina, Sir Bisi Fakayode, has paid glowing tribute to Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim on the occasion of his 57th birthday, describing him as an exceptional Nigerian whose life has been defined by courage, nationalism, compassion and an unwavering commitment to humanity.

In a statement marking the milestone, Fakayode said Dr. Hashim’s influence transcends politics, noting that his decades of service have made lasting contributions to Nigeria’s democratic development, community empowerment and the lives of countless citizens.

He described Hashim as a leader whose dedication to justice and national unity became evident during his years as a pro-democracy activist, when he stood firmly against oppression and the violation of citizens’ rights.

According to Fakayode, Hashim has consistently demonstrated that leadership should be anchored on service, integrity and selfless commitment to the people.

“Gbenga Hashim has shown that politics can be a platform for service, sacrifice and national transformation when driven by integrity and compassion,” he said.

Fakayode recalled that Hashim played a pivotal role in nurturing democratic ideals in Kwara State and across Nigeria by investing in people, ideas and institutions at a time when building credible political alternatives demanded courage and conviction.

He noted that many individuals who have gone on to distinguish themselves in public service benefited from Hashim’s mentorship, encouragement and unwavering commitment to human capital development.

Beyond politics, the Igbomina leader commended Hashim’s philanthropic interventions, describing him as a man who has consistently supported education, youth empowerment, vulnerable families and humanitarian causes without seeking public acclaim.

“His greatest legacy is not merely the political battles he has fought, but the lives he has transformed, the opportunities he has created and the hope he has inspired in countless Nigerians,” Fakayode stated.

He further described Hashim as a symbol of Nigeria’s unity, saying his diverse background and broad national outlook embody the possibility of a country where leadership rises above ethnic and regional divides.

“Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim represents the Nigeria we all desire, a nation where service, character and humanity remain the defining qualities of leadership,” he added.

Fakayode maintained that Nigeria is better for the life and contributions of Dr. Hashim, whose legacy, he said, is measured not by the offices he has sought or held, but by the enduring impact he has made on individuals, communities and the nation.

He prayed for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, sound health and strength for Dr. Hashim as he marks his 57th birthday and continues his service to Nigeria and humanity.

“May Almighty God preserve him, enlarge his capacity for service, and grant him many more years of impactful leadership for the benefit of our nation and mankind,” Fakayode said.
