PAUL IYOGHOJIE

Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Dahiru Ibrahim, the Principal Security Officer, PSO 3 to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, attached to the Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos has led his men to dislodge all the illegal motor parks, street trading and all sort of environmental nuisance obstructing the free flow of traffic within the vicinity of the Police Force Headquarters, (Kam-Salem House) Lagos and its environs.
According to a Police source, the Police boss took the action to ensure maximum security and free flow of traffic within the Kam Salem House environs.
It was gathered that those illegal motor parks, street trading and other environmental nuisance returned to the area shortly after the then Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Maritime Department at the Force Headquarters, Lagos, AIG James Caulcrick, who also confronted the environmental problems there, was redeployed to Abuja, the Federal Capital.
The source further said that since AIG Caulcrick was redeployed about five years ago, no Officer at the Force Headquarters, Lagos has been courageous enough to confront the environmental nuisance within the Kam-Salem House environs which had become an eyesore until when the PSO to IGP who resumed duty recently noticed the environmental nuisance there and swung into action to clear everything.
Since the PSO took the bold action, it was learnt, there has been free flow of traffic in the area unlike before to the delights of motorists and road users.
Following the new development, concerned residents of Moloney, Lafiaji and Obalende and motorists have commended Ibrahim for doing what other police officers have not been able to do at the Force Headquarters in recent time.
They urged other police officers to emulate Ibrahim to ensure maximum security and free flow of traffic within the Force Headquarters environs.
James Adoghe, a transporter, said the good job done by the PSO to IGP within the short time of assuming office at the Force Headquarters, Lagos has shown that there are still police officers who could still be courageous enough to do the right thing “despite the efforts by some elements to compromise him and this is my first time I would come across a police officer who would put financial inducement aside and do his job very well.
“I thanked IGP Mohammed Adamu for posting the PSO to the Force Headquarters, Lagos, to rescue the motorists from the traffic gridlock they have been facing at the P&T roundabout Moloney for long,” Adoghe stated.
When our Correspondent visited the Force Headquarters, Lagos, there was sanity in the area as traffic was moving freely unlike before and efforts to see the PSO was unsuccessful as he was said to be having a crucial meeting with Senior Police officers.
