Ikeja Chairperson Distributes Food & Relief Materials To Elderly Residents

The Chairperson of Ikeja Local Government, Mrs. Fausat Temitope Dauda, yesterday demonstrated her commitment to the welfare of the elderly by organizing the distribution of food items and relief materials to senior citizens across Ikeja Local Government.
The event, which took place at the Marriage Registry Hall, Ikeja Local Government Secretariat, brought together elderly residents from various communities within the council area who benefited from the kind gesture.
Speaking at the programme, Mrs. Dauda stated that the initiative was borne out of her desire to support vulnerable members of society, particularly the elderly who have contributed immensely to the growth and development of the community. She noted that caring for senior citizens is a collective responsibility and urged residents to continue showing love and support to those in need.

The distribution exercise featured essential food items and relief packages aimed at easing the economic burden on beneficiaries and improving their well-being.
The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), was also in attendance. In his remarks, he commended his wife for her compassion, generosity and unwavering commitment to humanitarian service. He described the initiative as a reflection of the caring spirit that should define public service and community leadership.

Comrade Dauda further assured residents that his administration remains committed to implementing people-oriented programmes that will positively impact all segments of society, especially the elderly, women, youths and other vulnerable groups.
Also present at the event was the Council Manager, Mrs. Taiwo Juliana Odubeko, alongside management staff of the local government, community leaders, political stakeholders and well-wishers.

Beneficiaries expressed profound appreciation to Mrs. Fausat Temitope Dauda for the thoughtful intervention, noting that the relief materials would go a long way in supporting their households.
