The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has joined the global community in celebrating women as the world marks International Women’s Day.
Comrade Dauda described women as the driving force behind many of the quiet successes recorded in families, businesses, and communities. Reflecting on this year’s theme, “Give To Gain,” he noted that societies make their greatest progress when women are deliberately supported with opportunities to grow, lead, and contribute. He added that this principle aligns with the Ikeja Agenda, which recognizes that inclusive development must create room for women to participate actively in economic, social, and community advancement.
“I and my beautiful wife, Temitope, celebrate all the women around the world, most especially the ever-resilient, reliable, and hardworking women of Ikeja on this auspicious day. We pray that their labour of love will never go in vain,” Comrade Dauda stated.
