The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has hosted the Ikeja League of Imams to the Council’s monthly prayer meeting, a spiritual exercise instituted since his assumption of office.

The monthly prayer session is dedicated to seeking divine guidance and blessings for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu; Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke (MHR, Ikeja Federal Constituency); Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu (ARK); Hon. Seyi Lawal; the six Councillors of Ikeja Local Government; the management and staff of the Council; and the good people of Ikeja.

Special supplications are consistently offered for peace, progress, unity, and sustainable development in Ikeja, Lagos State, and Nigeria at large.

This month’s prayer meeting featured an added civic engagement message, as the Executive Chairman, Comrade Dauda, appealed to the respected Muslim clerics to encourage their congregants to actively participate in the ongoing INEC voter registration and the APC membership e-registration exercise at designated centres.

He emphasized that possessing both the voter’s card and party membership card empowers citizens to participate fully in the democratic process and positions them to benefit from the dividends of democracy.

In their brief response, the clerics commended the Chairman for sustaining the prayer initiative, offered prayers for continued wisdom and success in his leadership, and assured him of their readiness to sensitize their congregations on civic responsibility and peaceful participation in democratic processes.
